Bryce 5 Lesson 2 : Importing an object
Lesson 1 : We have set the Document Setup to 800x600, in Camera View.
Putted a water texture on the infinite plane and selected a Sky preset.
First locate the circular button at the bottom right. Click on it to close the animation
menu and replace by the objects menu.
I have my spaceship L-003, that I've just created in Doga-L3 [DOWNLOAD] "Dezip" it with WinZip
Go get the spaceship object at File/Import Object.
Go to the rotate control and place the object to see the top.
(When the cursor become an x , move down)
Click the arrow to select meshes, and select the part on top of the list.

You see the part that you have selected, with a vertical menu.
Click on E for edit, and on the orange sphere to smooth the part.
Validate. Click on M to assign a material to this part.

Copy theses settings. Change the colors of the Diffuse, Ambient and Specular.
(Click on the oval to change it's color)
If you hold [Ctrl] [Alt] and click the oval, you'll have the system color selector.
Validate. Go to Edit and smooth it.

Select the second mesh and press M again. Put these settings.
Press on Copy at the bottom of the preview window (with a sphere).
Validate. Go to Edit and smooth it.
Select the third mesh, click M. Go to the Material Library as shown on the next image.
In the Metals section, choose Brushed Silver.
Validate and Go to Edit to smooth it.
Select the fourth mesh, click M. and press Paste at the bottom of the preview windows.
Validate and Go to Edit to smooth it.
Select the fifth mesh, it is the main body. Go get the Brushed Silver material. Click E to smooth.
Select the sixth mesh and Paste again by M. Validate and Go to Edit to smooth it.
Select the last mesh. It is the cockpit window. Go to Edit to smooth it.
Press it's M. (Material Lab)
Go to the Material Library with the arrow
as shown in this image:


In the Glasses section, choose Smoked Glass. Validate
Low the Transparency to 60. Validate.
Deselect this part, by clicking on an empty space.
Select the spaceship, place it the way you prefer.
If
you move the sun this way 
and put a pale yellow for it's color with the
little square at the bottom left, you will have a nice sunset.
I add two spheres with a Material from section Volume, Voluminous Fire.
And changing World Space for Spherical, like shown in the Material Lab :

Add also a radial light, under the spaceship, set to Intensity 8 with the button E.

Here is the result with a Brightness and Contrast tool set to -25 Brightness in Paint Shop.
