Bryce 5 Lesson 3 : Create a texture that apply on top
of an object.
First you can keep the dimensions by default, when opening Bryce.
Import your object. Put you in top view, hit + about 5 times,
to fill the working area with your object. Go to Render Options,
and check Object Mask. Render.

Save your image and open it in your drawing program.
By keeping the original size, put it in a new image with no empty
space around it.
PaintShop Trick: Select it and look at the bottom after the =
you have around =(474x360).
Copy this selection and paste it in a new image of this size.
Create a new image smaller.
Paste again till you have your contour fit tight .
Save it like "ObjectMask.bmp".

Now you can draw inside the white part :

Save this one like "ObjectTex.bmp"
In Bryce, select the part of your object to apply your texture.
Once selected go to Edit 2d Picture:

Select an empty square (or the first Load) and Import your ObjectTex.bmp image.
The second Load will be for your ObjectMask.bmp image.

To finish go to the Material Lab (M button).
Change Parametric to Object Top. I have putted the diffusion to 91,5.
and the Ambience to 0.
