Submission
"Then, to my astonishment, the daughter of the Ubar Marlenus, daughter of the Ubar of Ar, knelt before me, a simple warrior of Ko-ro-ba, and lowered her head, lifting and extending her arms, wrists crossed. It was... the submission of the captive female. Without raising her eyes from the ground, the daughter of the Ubar said in a clear, distinct voice: `I submit myself.'...I was speechless for a moment, but then, remembering that harsh Gorean custom required me either to accept the submission or slay the captive, I took her wrists in my hands and said, `I accept your submission.'"

" 'I can force you to take me,' she said.
'How?' I asked.
'Like this,' she responded, kneeling before me, lowering her head and lifting her arms, the wrists crossed. She laughed.
'Now you must take me with you or slay me.'
I cursed her, for she took unfair advantage of the Warrior Codes of Gor."

- from a Port Kar Slave's Chain Dance ---
"Then he removed his hands from her shoulders and, as the crowd cried out, she sank in abject misery at his feet and performed the ceremony of submission, kneeling, lowering the head and lifting and extending the arms, wrists crossed. The warrior then turned from her and held out one hand. Someone from the darkness threw him, coiled, the chain and collar. He gestured for the woman to rise and she did so and stood before him, head lowered. He pushed up her head and then, with a click that could be heard throughout the enclosure, closed the collar-a Turian collar-about her throat. The chain to which the collar was attached was a good deal longer than that of the Sirik, containing perhaps twenty feet of length."

"She came and stood before me, and then dropped to her knees, resting back on her heels. She lowered her head, and extended her arms, wrists crossed, the submission of a Gorean female."

"And then, angrily, loftily, she walked to the deck before me and then, movement by movement, to my fury, knelt before me, back on her heels, head down, arms extended, wrists crossed, as though for binding.
'You are a fool!' I told her.
She lifted her head, and smiled. 'You may simply leave me here if you wish,' she said.
'It is not in the codes,' I said.
'I thought,' said she, 'that you no longer kept the codes.'
...'I do not want you!' I said.
'Then slay me,' she said."

"She winced, her back bent painfully. 'Do you wish me to submit to you now?' she begged.
'Do so,' said he.
She fell to her knees before him, and lifted her head to regard him. 'I will be your slave,' she said. Then, she knelt back on her heels, lowered her head, and lifted and extended her arms, wrists crossed, as though for binding. She was very beautiful. 'I am your slave,' she said, '--Master.' "

" 'Assume the posture of female submission,' I told her. She did so, kneeling back on her heels, her arms extended wrists crossed. her head between them, down, she was weeping.
'Repeat after me,' I told her, ' "I, once Miss Elizabeth Cardwell, of the planet Earth--" '
'I, once Miss Elizabeth Cardwell of the planet Earth--' she said.
' "--herewith submit myself, completely and totally, in all things--" '
'--herewith submit myself, completely and totally, in all things--' she said.
' "--to he who is now known here as Hakim of Tor--" '
'--to he who is now known here as Hakim of Tor--' she said.
' "--his girl, his slave, an article of his property, his to do with as he pleases--" '
'--his girl, his slave, an article of his property, his to do with as he pleases,' she said.
Hassan handed me the collar. It was inscribed "I am the property of Hakim of Tor". I showed it to the girl. She could not read Taharic script. I read it to her. I put it about her neck. I snapped it shut.
' "I am yours, Master," ' I said to the girl.
She looked up at me, tears in her eyes, her neck in my locked collar. 'I am yours, Master,' she said.
'Congradulations on your slave!' said Hassan. 'She is lovely meat. Now i must attend to my own slave.' He laughed, and left.
.....
'What is your name?' I asked.
'What ever master wishes,' she whispered.
'I will call you "Vella",' I said.
'I am Vella,' she said, her head down."

" 'Submit,' he said. She looked at me, wildly, piteously. I aided her. I showed her how to kneel back on her heels, her arms extended to him, wrists crossed, her head down, between her arms. 'Say,'I submit,'' I said. 'I submit,' she said. He bound her wrists tightly before her body."

" 'She is yours,' he said.
He took his strap off her throat, and unbound her hands.
'Submit,' I told her.
She knelt before me, back on her heels, arms extended, head down, between her arms, wrists crossed, as though for binding.
'I submit to you, Master,' she said.
I tied her hands together; she then lowered her bound wrists; I pulled up her head. I held before her an opened collar, withdrawn from my sea bag. I had had one prepared."

"'There are many ways to perform obeisance.' I said.
'I am a free woman,' she said, 'I know none of them.'
'I shall instruct you briefly in three,' I said.
'First kneel before me , back on your heels, yes, with your knees wide, wider, your hands on your thighs, your back straight, your breasts out, good, your belly in, good, and now lower your head in deference, in submission.'
'Like a slave!' she said.
'Do it,' I said. She looked well.
'Now that,' I said, 'may not be exactly a form of obeisance, for authorities do not all agree, but for our purposes we shall count it as one. It is, at any rate, a beautiful position, and it is, certainly, a common position of slave submission.'
'Slave submission!' she cried.
'Yes,' I said, 'and you do it well. It looks natural on you.'"
