Weekly Update
April 2005
April 1- 17
Over the past two weeks Chad's moaning has noticeably, almost entirely, subsided and has been replaced by periods of sporadic laughter throughout the day and night. He seems to have a calm about him, almost an acceptance of his surroundings. Late last week Chad was taken via ambulance to Kaiser Santa Teresa to have his G-tube replaced after it ruptured. The trip over and back went well thanks to an awesome EMT crew (Laurel and Jamie from AMR).The tube replacement procedure was successfully acomplished in just a few minutes. The big news at home is that concrete was poured this past weekend completing the ramp and access to Chad's room. Cousin Trevor, recovering from multpile brain surgeries, made a surprise visit to Chad this past Sunday. It was good to see him up and about and continuing to make progress. Dr. Keith Howe, a chiropractor from the Alternative Healing Arts Center in Campbell, stopped in to evaluate Chad last week. Dr. Howe, who has also been working on our friend Kathleen Davey, examined Chad's nuero-vascular dynamics but will need some of Chad's x-rays taken over the past year to determine the 'before' and 'now' before he continues his work. There will be a garage sale fundraiser this weekend with all proceeds going to the Chad Michael Kunis Trust Fund.
April 18-24
Chad wants to thank everybody who made the garage sale fundraiser a success this past Saturday. Despite the overcast and occasional shower, many friends and neighbors stopped by to browse and many more stopped by just to express concern, optimism and donate to the Chad Michael Kunis Trust Fund. On the home front it appears that we spoke a little too early, it seems that the moaning returned in a flurry this past week, re-appearing randomly but most noticeably at night and for lengthy periods on end.
