to germany and beyond
on tuesday i'll be off to frankfurt and amsterdam.  if all works out alright i will me up with david in frankfurt, ian & co in amsterdam, and heather when i return to germany.  my must get item is a garden nome from germania.

a means to an end
my internship and uni is over.  in a couple of weeks i will return to the states to look for a career or possibly a paying internship.  we'll see what happens though.  in six months time i would like to either live in chicago or san diego.  at the very least i would like to live more centrally in the twin cities as i mother now lives out in the boonies.

four semesters in england/at the end of the day
i have now spent four semesters in england, each one different.  here's how they rank:
1. autumn 2002*
2. autumn 2004*
3. spring 2005**
4. spring 2003**

**the spring semesters are almost tied because spring 2003 i was pretty depressed but I had people like Andreas and Fiona around.  for spring 2005 the first half of the semester was far worse than spring 2003 but i wised up and moved halfway through the semester and joined the likes of ian and his housemates.
*at the end of the day the friends i have seriously taken away from england are:
andreas transo (dr. dre), steve pease (ts2), heather prevenost (nome), fiona hopkins (fi 1), ian hall (sir), chris legrant (ladies man), jeremy spoon (doodle), and of course there are other but these are the people i speak to the most

recent features & highlights / uk living & travel
i've added two new sections (one still under construction), the first records the albums i've selected each month under the
recent features & highlights column and the second has helpful links in regards to uk living & travel.  the second could have been a lot of help to me two years ago upon stepping foot in england, the first is just out of pure interest.

my life through the internet
today i found out my brother put pictures up of my brother's wedding in february by checking out his website (i hadn't seen any pics until then), a friend broke up with her boyfriend, and another friend doesn't want to be a vegetable.  if i had my choice i think i'd be a tomato.  or is that a fruit?

adventures in bushy park
bushy park, london's second largest park with nearly 450 hectacres, has become the site of frequent saturday visits by hampton locals, londoners, and myself.  last saturday included a visit to hampton court palace with stef before a two hour walk through bushy.  note to self: biking through bushy park is much more pleasent than walking through it.  however anywhere outdoors seems pretty nice in sunny to partly sunny 70 degree weather.

music
there has been a serious lack in new music on my part so what else can i do but listen to what i've got (unless i had internet access at home).  so i've been listening to sufjan stevens, the decemberists, death cab for cutie, radiohead, elliot smith, ac newman, the fire arcade, etc.  and as part of my recent features & highlights piece i have decide to keep track of what i have been listening to and when on a new page (soon to be completed and linked).  check it out soon.

do they know about second birthdays?
ian's birthday was on the 24th of march so we celebrated with a 'quiet' drink.  the following friday we celebrated with, i guess you could say, a not so quiet drink.  people + wine + wine + wine = what megan would say is 'bad news bears'.  the night was pretty good, the next morning, not so good.
