Stubborn

I’ve been watching you waste away under a mask you often like to wear.
You’ve fooled yourself. I suppose you’d like to think the same for me.
I would still come to you with agony, my friend.
But since you insist on being stubborn, which you claim is by fault of your genes,
We only entertain silence as a frequent method of speech.
