New Zealand, 2002

This place rocks. Adventure! Adventure! Adventure!

In September, 2002, Gatesy, his then girlfriend Karen and Sal and I flew over to NZ, hired a car and did as much as we could fit in. Gees it was fun!

This beautiful country became our home of adventure for a few weeks. I think one of New Zealands most appealing qualities is that the fantastic experiences and sceneries you can experience in a relatively short amount of travel. From the tropical Bay of Islands in the north to ski fields, fiords and glaciers far south and all the wonderfully lush lands between.

The excitement invcluded jet boating, quad biking, glacier climbing, natural steam baths, horse riding, adventure caving (including abseiling), boat cruises and, of course, skiing/snow boarding.

Jet Boating baby! (karen is the brunette). And no, that isn't Ali-G, that is my Penis Beenie

Quad Bikes Baby! After stalling several times, the guide-bloke (not related to girl guides) was getting the shits as you "must take it easy in the water!" lol

Adventure Caving ... My favourite part of the trip. Words can't describe how awesome is was, so I'm not going to bother. [Got to love sal crying (one of my fav photos), mind you, I was scared shitless at that part too!]

Franz Joseph Glacier. Took the day to hike up. Breath taking. Want a description? Go search the net.

More Franz Joseph Glacier. Aren't we cute in our snow bunny gear!

North Island's Rotorua is known to be steamy ... got to love that tub.

Snow was awesome, too. Went to a few of the different snow fields (all so close to Queenstown!).

Nightlife is good in Queenstown. No pics tho.

Lots of waterfalls - Milford Sound is Bruce McAvaney "special". Bloody Horsies. When will people listen that I've got nothing. Damn thing reared and nearly killed me. Lucky I've seen Luke Perry's "8 seconds".

Did I mention waterfalls? There's plenty. Damn pretty country. It was enough to prompt NZ as one destination we're considering living at some stage.
