| " We must not let them forget" | ||||||||||||||||
| On Dec. 7 th. I went to Davis Park with 10 fellow Veterans to have a short service to honor those who gave their lives at Pearl Harbor 56 years ago. When I got there I saw about 100 others standing around. I quickly thought what a turn out as I felt proud, but it was short lived as I found out that they were there to light the Hospice Tree. As a Chaplain I do some of the same things that Hospice does for those families in need. So I am in no way saying anything bad about them as it could have been any group who were there at the time. | ||||||||||||||||
| I am also aware that maybe we as Veterans did not let the public know that we were having a service in time or if at all. I only question those who were there who saw us with our caps on and did not join us for the service or even ask us what we were doing. The point I am making is how did it become so easy to forget or even care? I hope we as Veterans keep reminding them if for no other reason than so it never happens again! | ||||||||||||||||
| I want to thank Amvets Post 45, American Legion Post 21,Marine Corps League Detachment # 681 and others I may have missed for their participation at the service. | ||||||||||||||||
