Lively, ON.
Allan Ritchie was probably the first 'High-Tech
Communication Specialist' out of Moose Factory.
The tradition continues with his grandsons; Lark,
a business systems analyst at Falconbridge, Darryl, an Information Specialist
at the Ontario MNR, Allan, a service rep for Xerox, and Brian, Direcor
of Business Development at Ericsson, an international leader in wireless
communications
He worked the large part of his life as a CPR
telegraph operator at various relay points west and east of Chapleau. Allan Erland Ritchie died in May, 1961
Allan Ritchie, Chapleau Winter Carnival, Sometime in the late 1940's. Allan was noted for his proud and consistent displays of his heritage at many of Chapleau's community events. At a time when most natives shyed away from wearing culture-identifying costume, he walked in Chapleau's parades, a not-so-subtle statement of self esteem.
