"Springs of Life" was broadcast from 16 Dec 02 to 28 Feb 03. It was also broadcast on Malaysian Astro Channel in March 03.

downs of the character, Dapao (acted by Chor Meng) who finally became the "King of Medicated Oil" (according to i-weekly).
Alas, after patiently watching 60 episodes of this drama, one remains unmoved and uninspired by Dapao and his grand ambition. Instead it was the many well-acted characters around him that stood out and touched hearts. They were the ones who made the show in Hanwei's words, "Xiao Zhong You Lei" (tears amidst laughter).

Hanwei's Junsheng was supposed to be the "bad" rival out to spoil Dapao's plans. But by the end of the show he came across as the more likable magnanimous "hero" who saved Fei Fei, revived Dapao's business and made the hospital a success.

During an interview in "Zao An Nu Hao" before the show, Hanwei said that this show isn't strictly a comedy but "Xiao Zhong You Lei" (tears amidst laughter). Perhaps it is his in-depth interpretation that made Junsheng so real and human. |
