What is Anime and Manga?

You have entered the amime and manga spot. What is anime and manga you may ask?Well to put it simply manga is the Japanese version of a comic book and anime is the animated version of manga.But not always.There are many differences between Japanese animation or anime and the North American version. anime and manga use simple lines and stylized format,part of that is that the influence of ancient Japanese art. In fact many people believe that their art was the very first manga.

Anime and manga come in many different groups,there are all kinds for all types of people.There is even anime pornography.Where as in North America animation or cartoons are "For Kids Only". Anime and magna even made for just kids in Japan is still a lot different that the North American version. It is not as simple minded as American animation. It will show serious issues such as death while the U.S. tend to avoid such fundamental issues of life. Japan anime sympathize with technology, while the U.S simplify it or avoid it all together.There is less emphasis on a superhero in anime and a lot of them deal with everyday situations such as school, work and relationships.

There are some main ways to tell the difference between North American animation and Japanese animation or anime. Large Eyes and big hair, exaggerated movements and emotions are some of the more recognizable ones.There are many differnent looks to anime though. Every artist has his or her own style from a thick outline to soft edges they vary.
