"I saw you today." Jeff informed Ginger when she called him later that day.

"I saw you too."

The silence that followed was long and awkward. "Is this how we leave it?" Jeff suddenly inquired.

"Leave what?" She asked astonished.

"You were here… we saw each other… there’s no need for further…." He searched for the right word.

"Heart ache?" She offered.

"I was going to say painful memories… but that works too."

"Why do you always have to argue with me?" She demanded from him.

"I don’t. Only when I’m right." He cracked a smile over the phone.

"I want to see you again." She suddenly blurted out.

"No." He shook his head.

"Tomorrow." She continued.

"No."

"Same time same place."

"No."

"I’m not leaving until you get there." With that said she hung up.

"I thought you said you weren’t coming." Ginger challenged Jeff the next day, at their spot.

"I wasn’t planning on it. You just looked so lonely."

"So my plan worked?" She smiled at him.

"Ginger, I came because I have something I need to tell you." He solemnly look into her eyes.

"What? It can’t be that bad." She rolled her eyes and stood up.

"I didn’t say it was bad. just come to my house tomorrow at 6 for dinner… don’t be late." With that said, he hurried on his way.
