Heidelberg (Deutschland)
-- home for three exciting years (1990-1992) the era of German
reunification, the draw down of U.S. Army Europe, and of Operations Desert
Shield and Desert Storm.
Highland Falls NY
(USA) -- home for ten years (1977-1987) and a tight-knit community with as
many bars as churches. A village of 3,500 folks next door to West Point and
the US Military Academy. Where song writer Billy Joel (lived in
Ondaora Park summer 1975 or 1976) composed "Summer, Highland
Falls" on the album Turnstiles. Actor Charles
Durning's home town. Naturalist and writer John Burroughs (3 April 1837-
29 March 1921) resided here for awhile.
