Andrew (Peleg, Daniel, George, John, Johannes), son of Peleg and Sarah (Millington) Oatman, was born at Arlington, Bennington County, Vermont, 22 August 1804, and died at Shaftsbury, Bennington County, Vermont, 25 January 1853.

He married Pamelia, daughter of Joshua Corkins; she was born in 1813 and died 23 March 1885. The family settled at Shaftsbury, Vermont.

Pamelia married Elias Hale after Andrew's death. Elias was born ca 1808 and was a farmer. In 1860 their household consists of Elias, age 52, Permelia, age 48, and Charles Oatman, age 14.
