Henry B. Oatman (266) Genealogy Henry B. (Elisha, Samuel, George, John, Johannes), son of Elisha and Sarah (Bates) Oatman, was born in Derby, New Haven County, Connecticut, in 1813 and died 18 August 1895 at the age of 82 years.

He married: 1) on 6 December 1840, Lavinia, daughter of Josiah and Betsy (Butler) Curtis, born 7 July 1820, baptized 26 November 1820, and died 13 February 1842; 2) on 21 January 1846, Maria Curtis, born 6 June 1810, baptized 2 June 1811, a sister to Lavinia. Henry was a joiner by trade.
