He married Sylvia Ann Green(e), the daughter of Edward and Martha (Sheldon) Green(e) on 28 December 1839, per Register of Deaths of the town of Adams. According to the records of the 7th Day Baptist Church of Adams Center, Sylvia's mother was Lydia Green.
Sylvia was born 8 February 1814 and died 16 April 1894 in Adams Center of consumption. She united with the 7th Day Baptist Church of Adams Center on 4 May 1866. Darius and Sylvia were farmers and are both buried in Union Cemetery, Adams Center, New York.

His Will, dated 2 Jun 1919, names as his heirs Clyde Oatman, a nephew (son of Danford), and his widow, Maud Oatman, who was probably a third wife. Bradford is buried at Union Cemetery, Adams Center, NY; his stone is inscribed with "Co. C, 186, N.Y.V." His wife Emma was born 13 Mar 1860, d. 28 Feb 1910 and is buried with him.
