Governor John Ashcroft appointed Anthony McConnell as Christian County Associate Circuit Court Judge on September 15, 1985. From 1965 until his appointment, Judge McConnell practiced law in Ozark and was elected to three terms as the Prosecuting Attorney for Christian County. Judge McConnell graduated from Drury College, Springfield, Missouri, with an A.B. in Political Science and received his law degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1965, receiving the NBA award for scholastic achievement. Judge McConnell was a partner in the law firm of Appleby & McConnell from 1965 until his appointment to the bench. Judge McConnell served as Chairman of the 38th Circuit Bar Discipline Committee, Christian County representative on the Missouri Counsel on Criminal Justice, and was licensed to practice law in the U.S. Western District of Missouri until appointed to the bench.
