Training and Testing

There are three levels of ham radio licenses: Technician, General, and Extra. The Tech license does not require a Morse code test. Currently, the General and Extra class licenses do, but that may change soon, as the international treaty that required participating nations to give a Morse code test to applicants who want shortwave privileges has been modified, so that nations are no longer required to test applicants for Morse code proficiency.

To sign up for ham classes and exams, send e-mail  to KC2JTC@arrl.net.

Or, for self-study, go to Ham University - for all your Amateur Radio Exams

You may take a practice test at eHam.net.

Another (but rougher) way to self-study for your first ham radio license is to use the question pool and graphics for the technician exam.

Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Program courses are available online. E-mail for information.

Miscellaneous Training Files

These are a combination of practice ham tests and more general emergency communications courses. If you are studying for a license, only the practice tests are applicable. If you are licensed and want to train in emergency communications, then the other files are for you.
