| 1000 years ago, Mamoru was Prince Endymion of Earth. He fell in love with Princess Serenity (Usagi in the past), the only daughter to Queen Serenity of the Moon. According to the book for Sailor Moon (American version), Prince Endymion was supposed to marry Queen Beryl. Because he left her for Princess Serenity, Queen Beryl started the battle with the Moon Kingdom. I don't know whether this is true for the Japanese version. During the battle, all Earthlings were considered untrustworthy. This made the relationship between the Princess and Prince dificult. Prince Endymion began fighting on the side of the Moon, against Queen Beryl. Although the Moon Kingdom won, both he and Princess Serenity were killed during battle. Because of this, Queen Serenity used her energy and the power of the Silver Crystal to send everyone into the future, killing her in the process. Back in present times, Mamoru was reborn without his memory. His parent's car crashed when he young, killing his parents and leaving him with amnesia. He's been known to work as a model but isn't shown to have an actual full-time job. It's thought that he inherited his money from his parents, allowing him to pay for his apartment, sports-car and motorcycle, and attend the Azabu Institute of Technology to become a doctor. Before Mamoru gained his memories about his true relationship between him and Usagi, he dated Rei a few times. In the beginning, he never knew he was helping the Sailor Scouts as Tuxedo Kamen (Mask) until the middle of the first season. Mamoru regained his memory about the Moon Kingdom (as did SM and the other Sailor Scouts) when the Silver Crystal was once again formed. But during an attack against her, he got injured and captured by Queen Beryl. After a whole mess with Queen Beryl's brainwashing and after Sailor Moon defeated the negaverse, everyone lost their memory. Because of this, Tuxedo Kamen didn't exist. Therefore his subconscience created Tsukikage no Knight to protect and help Sailor Moon. In the future, he becomes the King of the Earth, Endymion, and is married to Neo-Queen Serenity, Usagi's future self. They have a child, Usagi/Chibi-usa (Rini), and rule the planet. |
