PART 2 |
I woke up for a while, then fell back asleep. This is the second dream. Now remember it is a dream, so parts won't make sense. At all...yeah it gets weird from this point on... We were in deeper water now, and it was definitely not a pool. I was hiding behind a giant rock, but not in that much pain. I still had my stick in hand. The net had broken off a while ago. I could breath for some reason, and I peered out to see the rich man and an orca they had painted all black to try to hide it. It would work for a distance, but I was too close not to notice the giant whale. I couldn't stay behind my rock much longer. I think he could sense my presence. The whale took off after me. Now it doesn't take a marine biologist to know that I couldn't outswim a killer whale. Duh. Let's be real. So I tried to hide. Small places right? He's huge, I'm not. I spotted an ideal place. A sunken ship. I grabbed the broken hull and propelled myself around it. But before I could get around I was hit. By the oddest thing though. Sonar. Weird sonar. The orca's sonar for some reason made my entire body go limp. I could hear them discussing it, and I knew that I was now invisible to sonar. But I didn't know why that was important. Apparently something with sonar had been coming to save me. My body floated limp in the water. I could see the surface water dancing, and I saw a dolphin passing over me. The rich man and his friend thought this was signficant. I felt myself move towards the rich guy. The dolphin swam around me, confused. Sonar couldn't detect me, and that poor dolphin couldn't sense me. But he knew I was there. The rules had changed again. The man was going to tag me for sure. But now I wasn't playing just for Noah. If I lost, I died. As I moved closer to my death the dolphin hit my body with his. That set me off my course. He pushed me with his nose as we moved past the orca. Something had broken the orca's sonar I guess, because I could move again. I held on tight as we manuevered. I came out of the water and I was back in the pool. This pool apparently connected to the ocean. I didn't stop to think, I just ran. And I ran right into the hot tub that had the same boy in it from so many years ago. He and a friend had their girlfriends in that same hot tub I had fallen into earlier. Only now I'm sure it was more up to date. I stopped for some reason. "I remember you! We met once. Only you were only so high then," I said, putting up my hand somewhere that was probably shorter than he had been at twelve. I apologized for intruding again. I don't know why. Then I kept running. It was days later. I had spent the last few dodging a couple of private investigators the rich man had hired. Somehow I had avoided them very skillfully. So long as they couldn't get me out in the open, I was alright. One of my uncles had had a house by the ocean/ lake. It was abandoned and falling apart now, but that's where I was staying. I had chosen the master bedroom to hide in because it had a huge bathtub. And the door was broken. The plywood had folded in on itself so that the doorhandle couldn't be used. I had found the door open then closed it. No one could come in now. And it looked like there was no way I could have gotten in. I removed my clothes and climbed carefully into the large tub. For some reason I had bubble bath. My aunt and uncle had kept spare supplies here when it was in use. I had been here before, working for them I think. I knew they kept it stocked, and I knew they wouldn't be coming anytime soon considering the damage on the house. The bathtub was in a room with huge long windows surrounding it. I looked out them as I relaxed in the steamy water. Not too far away was a green house with huge windows facing the lake. I had passed it the night before and noticed two huge beds in the windows. I had wondered why anyone would want their bed by windows like that. The comforters were white with pink flowers. Don't ask me why I remember that. The people in the house were just waking up. I could see their faces. The bed on the first floor was smaller, but still huge. An older couple climbed out of it. On the second floor, a whole family climbed out. I recognized one of them instantly. It was Peter, and he saw my face too... (Nothing else!) I shut the curtains and climbed out. For some reason I dressed with remarkable speed. Like crazy fast. I sped out the door, barefoot, and ran to Peter. We hugged briefly. "I didn't know you were up here!" I said. "I remember you said your grandparents had a place by the water. I didn't know it was here!" He smiled. We were excited to see each other. I asked about Sarah, casually. He was called back to his house for a moment before he could answer and I realized something. His house was too far away from the cabin I was in. There was a whole other plot between the two. There was no way we could have seen each other. I turned to see the two private detectives come out of the cabin I had just been in. "Call the police," said one of them to his companion. They smiled. I looked around. There was a long road, but the police would be on it. I took off running on the road. They didn't chase me. They headed back to cabin. If I stayed on the road the police would find me. If I ran any other way then they could just grab me and hold me til the police did come. So I stayed on the road, willing to take my chances with the police. There was grass down to the lake/ocean but I knew that if I ran there, then they could follow me through the grass. I would surely bend it and leave a trail. I turned off onto a dirt road instead. It killed my feet, but I kept running. The road led up to a large ferry. It's back end was sunk into the water, but no one seemed to care. I ran to the back of the ferry and prepared to jump into the ocean. A security guard looked at me as I peered at the water. "Be careful," she said, not knowing I was planning on jumping. "We had someone fall in just the other day. Idiot leaned to far over the edge." Ignoring the good advice I grabbed the edge that was actually under water and climbed up. The security guard's eyes got wide, but she couldn't stop me before I jumped out into the water. I used the back of the ship to propel myself away from the turning engines. I swam with all my might, but I wasn't moving. The ferry was though, so I eventually got out of the pull. I swam under water throughout all of this, so I could hear the people above. "Someone call 911! " "She's gonna get torn up in the engines!" "No, she'll just get stuck and drown. We've got to hurry!" I ignored them and kept swimming... I was in control of my dream from this point on...so I guess I better make a part three huh? |
