Graphic Presentation
One Piece
Here are five pictures that I drew which symbolize and tell my general feelings toward a certain subject covered in our history class.  Most of these pictures are drawn in the Kawaii Noir style, which is basically a cute yet dark kind of drawing style that I've grown to love through Junko Mizuno's artwork.  (It's kind of risque art, but it's really great)  I like using exaggeration in my art as well (as seen in the 'Lazy Crime~Technology' picture and the 'Fate's Clock~ History' Picture) Hopefully this is a refreshing turn from the usual book assignments that I had done from the past quarters of this class.
If anyone would like to use any of my art anywhere on the web, please e-mail me first and link to this page, that would be great.
Gremlin?~ War
The first picture I drew was while we were watching a documentary for the Vietnam War.  War, is ultimately death, more likely than not of mass numbers of people who probably don't have anything to do with the controversial decisions that caused the war in the first place.  More so, they are just the innocent's souls that pay the price for a leader's mess up.  (The smiling heart tower is representing such a personality)  By the way, the sprite looking lady riding on the missile is a Gremlin, (well that's what it says on her pants) though they were actually little elf like creatures that were rumored to tamper with aircraft machinery during WWII.  The original Fifinellas (female Gremlins) are said to have wings and a horns as they got famous through Roald Dahl's novel 'The Gremlins'
Belief in Wire~ Religion
The second picture is of religion and the dangers that come through such a touchy subject.  The girl at the bottom prays for the sake of her faith.  But its these faiths that ignite such tensions between different roots around the world.  (As accented by the barbed wire that covers the important religious symbols that I've added)  By no means am I saying that religion in itself is bad, it's just that sometimes these clashes in belief can cause much more damage than mere difference in opinion.  (I've marked are persecuted because of their faith, with the word 'Sin'? and the skulls near the bottom)  Religion has given us a wealth of imagery and ideals enough to influence our laws in the government.  It's a very sensitive subject (often starting endless flame wars over the net even) and when pushed the wrong way, can cause devastation beyond the agenda of peace.  (which ideally is what a religion should push for)
Lazy Crime~ Technology
Technology has been integrating itself into our lives as far back as when we first started using pointy rocks and sticks to defend ourselves. (Shabby yes, but it was a start)  But today technology allows us to take pictures with our phones, send mail and do taxes over the internet.  While it definitely makes our lives easier, it sure does make a criminal's job easier to wreak havoc.  By merely shuffling his fingers over a keyboard, a malicious mind can spy, infect systems or even steal someone's identity online!  He doesn't only have to do it once also!  (Which is why he has multiple arms)  The line of drool from his mouth indicates the ease and convenience on how he can do his deeds.
Winds~ Viewpoints
Over here are rival winds spirits (I guess you can call them that)  when fighting they create a windstorm of confusion, one that's hard to see in anyway.  The eye in the center is the mild mannered opinion, while other winds are trying to sway the eye this way or that, it gets confused.  But I also decided to accent the winds with interesting little swirls and curls.  (One of my most fond techniques whenever I draw almost anything for that matter)  This remarks while the winds of clashing viewpoints are potentially dangerous, they surely make life more appealing and exciting.  Would you rather have had me draw straight lines from the sprites?
Fate's Clock~ History
Obviously the central focal point is the clock.  And yes I drew the hands crooked like that on purpose.  I suppose it's an accent on confusion and randomness that could influence what happens in history.  The words War, Revolution and Peace are printed on the clock's face, as every country seems to go through those sorts of phases.  Fate, is the girl with her outstretched arms on the bottom.  (I hope I made that obvious enough, I tried)  Basically she rules the world, however she likes to.  Whatever she decides usually (hopefully accurately) is written in sources, like documents, diaries and stories, as shown by the flying papers at her sides.  The three girls on top of the clock are Urd, Verdandi and Skuld, the three Goddesses of Time from Norse Mythology.  Granted, I'm sure this is not what they really looked like in Norse tales but I figured the Urd should be sleeping (She's already 'done') , Verdandi's awake (she's in action as we speak), but Skuld has a black hood over her eyes (We never really know what's going to come from her).  By this pattern Urd is the past, Verdandi's the present and Skuld is the future.
