04/30/99 Rangers' Cloutier to Have Scar Tissue Removed NHL.COM NEW YORK - New York Rangers backup goaltender Dan Cloutier will undergo a minor procedure Friday to remove excess scar tissue from his groin area. The groin adductor release will be performed by Dr. Robert Myers, a groin specialist, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Rehabilitation is expected to begin in three weeks and Cloutier should be healthy when training camp opens in the fall, team officials said. Cloutier, who turned 23 last week, went 6-8-3 with a 2.68 goals-against average as Mike Richter's understudy in his first full NHL season. |
