THE PRICE OF FREEDOM | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
At what price does America pay for its freedom? The freedom to express oneself, without repercussion. The stand we take to defend our country, and our views of global freedoms can be viewed, surprisingly, quite differently in other countries. A recent 2004 poll taken in Canada says that 40% of Canadian teenagers believe the United States is an "evil" country. Among French-Canadian teens, the number rises to 64% This being very hard to believe, isn't so shocking when considering how viciously anti-American the Canadian press is, as well the irresponsibility of other liberal-based educators supposedly teaching the Canadian youth about the world. Well let's get some facts straight for all the kids in Canada and everywhere: |

The United States Of America has set more people free than any other country in the history of mankind!
Okay how about some facts. We are all familiar with World War II, but here are some more recent events:
In Eastern Europe, the policies of Ronald Reagan and his Administration led to the freeing of at least 122 million people from Soviet domination. More than 48 million South Koreans remain free because of American protection. The state of Israel and five and a half million Jews would be crushed by it enemies if not for American aid. By removing the brutal regimes in Iraq and Afghanistan, America and Britian have given almost 50 million people at least a chance at some kind of self-determination. Additionally, the American-driven campaign against the butcher Milosovic in the Balkans saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. America is sending $3 billion a year to Africa to combat the AIDS epidemic. By comparison Canada is sending $270 million, France a paltry $60 million. Put that in your crepes and eat it! |

And those countries have the nerve to portray America as a villian? How many human beings has France freed in the last 60 years? The same can be asked of Canada! The truth is that America is a great country striving to protect Democracy in an ungrateful and dangerous world! |
