Ploegsteert - Races of Remembrance

To mark Armistice Day a combined team from Worksop Harriers, Clowne Road Runners & members of Maltby Running Club took part in the Ploegsteert ‘Races of Remembrance’. The races pass around the First World War battlefields in Belgium and they attract over 4,000 runners.
Whilst there they also attended the playing of the last post at the Menin Gate, Ypres, where representatives from Queen Elizabeth High School, Retford, laid a wreath.
There are two competitions, a half marathon and an 8km race, which the Harriers have regularly competed in for the last 8 years.
