Title: Commencement Summery: Highschool is over... what now? Rating: pretty much the same as the show...for now(I think) AN: I write these as I go along so please forgive me if I don't update this particular one since I have 2 other ongoing fics already. AN2: I made Chloe and Lana sisters. They act like sisters, so I think I like it this way. Enjoy! ~*~*~*~*~*~ "I can't believe you got accepted to Northwestern!" Chloe exclaimed as she read the letter. Her and Lana had been in the middle of their weekend ice cream and chick flicks on the couch when Lana popped the news and handed her sister the letter. "Yeah. Pretty crazy, huh?" Lana replied. She had applied to Northwestern just to see if she could get in. She never thought they were accept her. The dream of going to a real good university was a lot less scary than the reality. The blond squealed again for the zillionth time and grasped her sister in a huge bear hug. "You'll do so good here! Does dad know?" she asked, reading over the acceptance letter again, she was so happy for her sister. "I was thinking of telling him tonight at dinner. I wanted to tell you and-" she didn't get to finish her sentence. "Clark?" Chloe interrupted. Lana nodded. "Well, I'm glad that I come first before him." she said somewhat bitterly. It had taken a long time for Chloe to accept that Clark wasn't interested in her. There had been a major fight, fists even flew a few times, between her and Lana, but it was over now. Clark had told Lana the big secret and wouldn't tell Chloe, so that was the icing on the cake. Chloe never thought of him the same way again. "You do. Clark is just a good friend, you will always be my sister. First." she assured her, putting an affectionate arm around her shoulders. Chloe smiled at her sister and hugged her again. "Even when you're at Northwestern?" she asked in a teasing voice. Lana giggled. "Yeah." then sobered and took the letter from her sister. If she went to this university then she may never see Clark ever again, and that hurt her more than she realized until now. ~*~*~*~*~*~ "Clark." Lana said as she came up to him that night in the loft. He turned and smiled at her, that smile that always made her weak in the knees. At some point durring their high school years together, it even made her tremble at times to see that smile. "Hey. I thought you were going out for dinner tonight." he said, placing the lens cap back on his telescope and leaning against the window sill of the huge opening in his loft. She couldn't help but make her smile grow at the thought that he remembered everything she had ever told him. "I did. But we came back early when I told my dad that..." she stopped talking as her nerves got the better of her. What was wrong with her? This was Clark. Buddy Clark....Oh..Sexy Clark. Where did that come from. He closed the distance between them to a few feet. "What the matter, Lana? You're shaking." he said, trying to resist the urge to comfort her in his arms. To chase away whatever was making her so upset. "I told my dad that I got an acceptance letter from Northwestern." she said as if on autopilot. She felt another wave of sadness come over her when his eyes lit up. "Why is that a bad thing?" he asked her, feeling himself taking another step toward her. There was something about the end of school and graduation being but a few days away that made this night different from all the other nights they spent here in his loft. "He wants me to go. My dad. Everyone I've told wants me to leave Smallville." she told him, not failing to notice that her body was reacting to his closeness. Her face was getting warmer and her fingers itched to reach other and touch his hansome face. What was with her tonight, why was she thinking like this? "They just want you to have a better life than you can have here." he told her, his feet making another step and now he was standing close enough to just take her in his arms and tell her something else he was keeping from her.... he had been accepted to Northwestern too and his parents were pushing him to go. Now there was no reason to not go if Lana was coming with him. She had to tilt her head back slightly to look at his face while she spoke. She found herself wishing he was just kiss her. "But how can I have a better life away from the people who care about me, who love me no matter what?" she said, then swallowed the lump in her throat at the mention of love to him. Why was she feeling this way now? Sure, there had always been that attraction but he always ran away when she acted on her feelings. He smiled and moved away from her to the small table. He picked up the envelope that lay there. He was planning on telling her tomorrow night about his acceptance to Northwestern. He handed her the white envelope. "Open it." he instructed. She gave him a slightly confused look then turned the paper envelope over to open it. She pulled out it's contents, a computer printed paper and unfolded it. She gasped in delight and surprise. Happiness flooded her being and she jumped on him, hugging him and laughing happily. "Congratulations, you get to put up with me for more years to come." she said and she held onto him a bit longer before releasing him. She stayed pressed against him, as it didn't occur to her to give some personal space. "Oh no." he said in mock fear. She hit him playfully on the shoulder. He caught her wrist, bringing their faces closer. They went from playful to serious in two seconds. His hands moved around her waist as their lips hovered only a hairs breadth apart. Then tingles sped through their bodies when their lips brushed in a tentative kiss. After that the fire of passion that had been a mere glowing ember between them for years caught fire and sprayed up. They kissed again and again then her arms wound around his neck and the kiss heated up. Her brain was in a frenzy as he nipped at her lips somewhat playfully, when her lips parted his tongue slipped inside the moist cavern of her mouth. Her body came to attention as his tongue rubbed against hers in the most sensual way. She was all too willing to let her tongue duel with his until her need to oxygen became too great and she pulled away just enough to catch her breath, not willing to break the delicious contact with his powerful body. When she weas this close she could feel the strength that his tall form held, it was just as intoxicating at his clean scent. "I've been waiting for you to do that for the longest time." she confessed. He smiled and kissed her forhead, when she tilted her head back he took the invitation and captured her lips once more. She tasted so good, sweet and a little spicy. He didn't tell her but he too had been dying to kiss her since she stepped into his loft, and every other time he saw her. But, like most things, they're better left unsaid, for now. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Graduation day came and went. The dry grad was a blast, but now the wet grad was something to look foreward to. Clark put on his blue button up shirt and checked his appearance in the mirror. Good. It was only thirty minutes until the party for wet grad(translation, a grad party with alcohol) and he was more excited than he thought he would be. Maybe it was because Lana was his date... ya that was it! He smiled to himself before bounding down the stairs and kiss him mom goodbye and recieve the responsibilty lecture from his dad. With that done he was out the door. Chloe answered the door when he knocked, she was in a short pink dress and she looked amazing. "Wow. Who's the lucky guy?" he asked her. Their friendship had struggled during the big fight between her and Lana, but since then they had been as close as friends could be. "Pete's picking me up." she replied, she was happy to be going with Pete, as least it was someone she could trust. "Lookin for my lovely sister Lana?" she asked, her face brightening when she thought of what Lana was wearing. She was really looking foreward to seeing Clark self distruct. In a good way. "Yeah. Is she ready?" he asked. Chloe nodded and invited him to wait inside. Then she hurried up the stairs to tell her sister. "Hey, sis. Clarky's here." she said in a little girl voice. "I can't wait to see what he does when he sees you in that dress." she said. Lana smoothed out her dress. It was a very sexy black mini dress. The top part was fashioned to show a teasing amount of cleavage and it came down to her mid thigh. She was wearing strappy sandals and her hair was swept up in a cute messy bun with tendrils framing her face. She looked like a woman on a mission of seduction. "How do I look?" she asked, spinning around to show the entire dress. There was no fabric that covered her back save two straps cross crossing. "You look like your ready to make your date drop dead." Chloe said then left the room to check her make up in the bathroom. Lana took a few deep breaths. Was she ready to have Clark be turned on by her slightly skimpy dress? Too late now. She did an overall check of her hair make up and dress then left her room, her heart pounding in her chest like a drum, she desended the stairs and round the corner to see her date. "Hey." she said, immediately getting his attention. His mouth fell open as he drank in the sight of her. She looked so... sexy. "Hey." he managed to say. "You look like you just stepped out of a magazine." he said as his feet carried him over to her. He bent and kissed her once then offered his arm. "Shall we go?" he asked. She smiled, pleased with his reaction, and slipped her tiny hand around his arm. "Yes we shall. Bye Chloe, see you there." she called to her sister. "See ya!" Chloe replied from the top of the stairs. With that they left for the party smiling like the happy couple they now were. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Pete whistled when him and Chloe met up with Lana and Clark. "Woowee Lana never pictured you in a strip of material like that." he stated, checking her out in a friendly way. Chloe just giggled she knew that Pete wasn't interested in Lana, even if he was Clark already had her. "Um, thanks Pete. I feel kinda funny in this thing." Lana confessed, fidgetting with the hemline. "It's very tiny." she said with a giggle. Clark put his arm back around her and handed her a cup of spiked punch. "I think you look great." he told her. Chloe caught a look in Clark's eyes that made her slightly uneasy. Her sister was eighteen now and capable to making her own decisions but she still felt sisterly protectiveness... and of course jealousy because she dreamed a lot the Clark would look at her that way. "Yeah..." she said slowly smiling to lighten her mood. Pete just laughed and tugged Chloe over to the area by the river that had been designated at the dance floor. Leaving Lana and Clark alone. "Are you sure I don't look like a shy girl in a come-bite-me outfit?" she asked Clark selfconsciously. He chuckled. "You have nothing to worry about." he promised taking a drink of his punch to ease his nerves. This whole scene with the party, alcohol and Lana was getting to him, in a way that wasn't bad. "Okay." she said feeling herself calm a bit. She always was a cheap drunk and she had drank half of her punch already and was feeling slightly lightheaded. "Let's dance." she suggested putting her punch down and leading him to the dance floor. (don't worry there will be flashbacks from the party later on in the story) ~*~*~*~*~*~ After finding out that booze was her best friend Lana was completely trashed by the time they headed home. The waiting cabs were diminishing now as Clark and Lana stumbled and laughed their way to one of them. "Where do we live again?" Lana asked leaning into Clark in the cab. "Take us to Smallville Motel." Clark told the driver. Lana lifted her head lazily and looked into his drunk eyes. She giggled as she climbed onto his lap, one knee of either side of him. "Are you trying to seduce me?" she asked in a slurred voice. But she was the one doing the seducing, her intoxicated body instantly recognized the position against the man it desires most. In her drunken state the sudden arrousal was not held back, she kissed him hard, taking what she wanted. Their kisses throughout the night had been a mere kindling flame compared to this. His hands gripped her ass as she ground herself against him. He held her as close as he could without crushing her, his hands were pretty much innocent at this point. Hers, on the other hand, were roaming his chest, her nails scraped his male nipples in attempt to arrous him futher. It worked. "Hey you too, pay up and get out." the cabby said forcefully to them. Lana attacked his neck with wanton kisses and Clark dug in his pocket and paid the man. He managed to get out of the taxi with Lana hanging into him like a horny woman(which she was) before the cab driver sped away. "Lets get a room." Lana purred into his ear. He agreed wordlessly and carried her, her lips still attached to his neck from time to time, to the office. She slipped her legs down from around his waist when they got to the front desk, making sure she dragged out the process. "How much?" Clark asked the manager. He paid for the room and took the key. Together they ran to the room and as soon as the door was unlocked they were inside, the door closed behind them. The bed was only a few steps from the door and they made it in one jump. Once they were on the bed... well you can figure out what happened next. ~*~*~*~*~*~ The pounding in her head greeted her when she awoke. She was grateful that the blinds were closed. She groaned and rubbed her temples with the hand that was resting on Clark's bare chest... wait a sec... "Oh God." Lana whispered sitting up and running a hand through her hair. They were naked and there was a distinct soreness in her nether regions. Those were all tell tale signs. Clark, who was woken from a peaceful sleep, opened his eyes. "Where am I?" he asked whoever would answer. His gaze took in the shoddy motel room before landing on the distressed Lana, who was hurrying to find her dress. "Lana?" he questioned. He couldn't remember a thing, and for the first time in his life he had a headache. She picked up her dress, and found it torn to shreds, completely unwearable. "I think you can guess what happened last night." she said holding up her panties and dress that looked like scraps of material. "You owe me two hundred bucks pal." she told him, her headache making her very irritable. "I'm sorry... I can't remember doing that." he said, lifting the covers and looking down. His eyes widened and he dropped the blanket back around his waist. "Okay, I think I know." he said, his headache faded and he felt better, thank Krypton for superness. "Yeah." she said angrily, not really knowing why she was so mad, it wasn't like she hated the idea that she had been intimate with Clark last night. She squealed loudly when he reached out and grabbed her, pulling her back into bed with him. She gasped as her body reacted to their bare skin coming in contact. "Do you remember anything?" she asked crawling under the covers and snuggling up to him, her mood changing immediately. "Nope. I remember you throwing wet towel paper at the party. There was lots of drinking and after that it's all fuzzy." he told her. "At least we can be sure of one thing." She nodded. "Yep. And I bet protection wasn't thought of either." she stated. "We should have predicted this." she said, feeling stupid for all the drinking she had obviously done. He agreed. The knowledge that now the consequences lay ahead weighed heavy. What ifs were thrown back and forth and in the end they managed to get themselves out of the motel and back to their respective houses. ~*~*~*~*~*~ After arriving in Evanston, Illinois Lana took a taxi straight to the university. Her heart was ready to jump out of her chest at the knowledge she would finally see Clark again, who had left a week before her. As the taxi pulled up to the school Lana gasped at it's size and beauty. She would be living here for the next three years!? The cab dropped her off at the front entrance of her dormatory and Lana got out. She looked around feeling lost and frantic from all the people milling about. This is was people than she saw in a whole month back in Smallville. Clark was supposed to pick her up here. She checked her watch and then scanned her surroundings. A couple of male juniors eyed her like fresh meat as they passed. She slung her bag over her shoulder and crossed her arms self consciously. "Hey Miss. Are you gonna get your bags outta my trunk?" the cab driver asked her, leaning out the window. He was obviously in a hurry because about fifty other cabs were pulling up honking to take his parking spot. Lana faced him. "My boy...A friend of mine is supposed to meet me here. He's late..." she informed the driver, then added silently, "as always." "Lana!" came Clarks familiar voice from thirty feet away. He made his way through the crowds to scoop her into his arms. Over the summer they had gotten close, but the pregnancy scare caused them to hold off on an actual boyfriend girlfriend relationship. When she turned out to not be pregnant they had decided to stay good friends at least until they settled into their new school. Lana felt tears fill her eyes and she hugged him back, feeling her feet come off the ground momentarily. The cabby honked at them and Clark laughed before going to get her bags out of the trunk. "It's so good to see you!" she gushed after paying the cabby and Clark carried her bags for her up to the dorm entrance. "Yeah. I missed you. It was lonely here without you." he told her. They walked together to the elevator. Lana pulled out her note pad then pressed the 4th floor buttin. "What have you been doing here all week?" she asked him, feeling a bit ackward but so happy to see him that it hardly mattered. When he left Smallville she cried for a whole day then after that she was bouncing off the walls waiting for her departure date to arrive. It was so good to see his face again. "Nothing. I took a ten cent tour of the campus. It really nice here." he told her, his senses reeling from her familiar scent and her familiar...everything. All the love he felt for her was still there if there was any doubt that it would be. The elevator dinged he followed her out and down the hall, passing the various students that were milling about in the halls. She glanced over at him from time to time, her eyes picking up little changes and loving them. She couldn't help but wonder what this year would bring for them. "This is me." she announced as they stopped at the wooden door that had the room number '428' nailed to it. When she unlocked the door with the key that was mailed to her she wasn't surprised to find that her room mate had already settled in and was gone. "So, do you know who your roomate it yet?" he asked, setting the bags on the bed before sitting down. Lana immediately opened one of them and started unpacking to give her something else to focus on besides sexy Clark Kent sitting on her bed looking more and more delectable by the second. "Nope. Not yet. I called in but they told me that it's kept a secret to discourage switching requests... or something like that." she replied, her face felt warm. "By the looks of it, I got a guy for a roomate." she said looking over at the identical other half of the dorm room. Clark smiled. "Yeah it's a guy. Surprise." he said in a normal voice going to his side of the room and opening his closet, revealing his flannel wardrobe hanging there neatly. The shock was evident on Lana's face as she took in this new bit of information. Clark had somehow arranged to have them paired up as roomates. She dropped the shirt she had in her hand and ran over to him. She jumped up, wrapping her arms and legs around him in a big bear hug. "This is so COOL!" she squealed. She knew now her higher learning experience just got better by a thousand percent....But she knew that living together would change a lot of things... she hoped all those things would be good. ~*~*~*~*~*~ It was a week after Lana arrived and she had finally settled down in her new home. It helped a lot to have Clark with her almost 24/7 but it was also hard because the fact that they had decided to remain friends until now. They still hadn't talked about it and Lana was waiting for him to bring it up. He never did, typical of Clark Kent. As she lay in her bed, her eyes studying the ceiling as Clark slept peacefully a few feet away, she thought back to the night they went to the wet grad party. She could still remember the killer of a hangover she had and the heartwrenching fear of being pregnant, she could even remember how it felt to be on Clark's arm at the party. But when she tried to remember the feel of Clark's touch, her memory drew a blank. Her head turned on it's own to look over at Clark. She wondered if he ever thought about this. They hadn't really had a chance to get into the mood she figured, but still... wasn't he curious to know how she felt about him. Of maybe he found someone else and no longer has the same feelings towards her. The thought gripped her stomach and made her feel like crying. But her eyes stayed dry. In the next bed Clark pretended to be asleep. All he could think about was what what she dreaming about that she was so quiet. He remembered that she talked a bit in her sleep. They had lived together in this dorm room for a whole week, so he was plenty aware that she said some humerous things while she slept. Once she had even called his name. He opened his eyes for a few seconds. It was dark, but he could make out her smooth featureds, he couldn't see her eyes so he was unaware that she had them open. Then her head turned and he saw that she was wide awake. "I thought you were sleeping." he told her. She seemed stunned herself that he was not drifting in dreamland himself. "Couldn't. Too much on my mind." she replied. Her fingers combed through her hair as she sat up and crossed her legs. The night was warm so she didn't feel a chill as her blankets fell away. Clark smiled, his eyes taking in the cuteness of her night atire. She always wore those fleecy pj pants with a tiny tank top. It was a habit of hers that he very much enjoyed. "Same here." he said, "Orientation starts at 10 tomorrow morning, so we should try and get some sleep." he pointed out. She nodded and looked down at her fingers. Her nails had grown and she took the time to polish them with a sparkly blue. "Clark.." she started, but lost her nerve when she heard him move to lean against the headboard of his bed. What she wouldn't give she climb onto his lap and into his arms right now. She shivered as she thought about what it would be like to be in those strong arms again... super stong arm, she corrected herself. "What is it?" he asked, searching her face for some indication of what she was feeling. All he could see was conflicting emotions and the lack of courage to express them. "Lana, you know you can tell me anything." he reminded her. After all they had gone farther than most friends ought to go as far as their togetherness was concerned. Even though niether could remember details. She looked up at his hansome face. Her memory filling in the details that were shrouded by the lack of light. "I know. It's just.... here goes... Do you ever think about that night we spent in the motel?" she asked him, her heart racing in her chest and pounding in her ears. She practically handed him her feelings and now had to wait if he would stomp on them. His answer was delayed as he thought back to all the times he had thought about that night. "Yes. I've thought about it a lot." he told her truthfully. Then he watched as she nodded and looked down at her hands again. "Do you?" he asked her. She nodded again. He knew that her eyes were tearing now, he could sense it. His instincted told him to get his ass over there and comfort her, but his body only got him as far as sitting on the edge of his bed. She sniffled and wiping angrily at her tears. She hated that Clark could reduce her to this just with a few words. He said her name and she looked up to see him standing in the three foot space between their beds. That was it, their fate was sealed. Her legs brought her to a standing postition in front of him, there she waited for his touch. When it came, his hand to her cheek, she leaned into it. God, how much could someone love another before it killed them. He drew her closer to him, his free hand gently touched her hip, which was bare because her pj pants were so loose they hung low on her hips. He felt her hands roam up his arms tp rest on his biceps. He tilted her head back a bit and their eyes locked. Lana's heart fluttered in her chest as she looked into his eyes, darkened by lust and the night. She took a step closer and let out a little gasp as he pulled her flush up against him. Her eyes fell shut as tingles raced through her, making her lift herself to her tippy toes and her lips to seek out his. He had read somewhere that humans had a keen instinct to be able to find each others lips even when they couldn't see them. This fact was true for aliens too. Memories of past moments with Lana filled his head as their lips touched in a tentitive kiss. The memory of getting the motel room rushed back to both of them. So did the memory of the desire they felt that night as they made love. Lana let out a little moan and wrapped her arms tightly around his neck as the innocent kiss turned naughty. She felt a pleasant tingle between her legs and kissed his harder. Their tongues played a new form of tag as her legs found their way around his waist. She reached down frantically and pulled the hem of his shirt up. He got the message and before she knew it her back was sinking into the matress of his bed and her eyes were watching him strip his shirt off over his head. She licked her lips at the sight of his sculpted muscles and couldn't hold back the moan of delight when he crawled on top of her, his mouth returning to hers. Her tank top was the next thing to go and the sports bra that she always wore to bed since the first night they slept in this room. A moan of protest turned into a moan of pleasure when his lips left hers to travel down and take one hardened nipple into his mouth. She cried out as his tongue, teeth and lips working the pebbled peak with expert ease. Her knees lifted and her legs wrapped around him. Her memory of him doing this that night in the motel was still groggy but she figured if it was half as good as this time was turning out to be, she knew she had a good time that night. His mouth switched to the other breast as his hand kneaded the other one. He felt her hands on his back and in his hair, her legs were secured around him and her hips were rocking against his stomach. This had to be a dream, he thought as he left her breasts to venture lower. His fingers hooked into the waistband of her pj pants and started to tug them down her hips. The pleasure of his touch was starting to make her tremble and it didn't help that she was now almost all naked, save for the tiny thong that he was now tracing with his fingers. She opened her eyes and looked down at him, something shifted inside her at the sight of him exploring her panties. It was incredibly cute but also mind numbingly arrousing. She became aware that she was panting when he looked up at her, his eyes asking the ultimate question. She nodded, giving her consent, then held her breath as his fingers dragged the tiny piece of material down her legs. She watched him as he gently pushed her legs apart. She thought she was gonna just pass out right there as he leaned in and kissed her nether lips. Her body felt the jolt of pleasure before her brain could register it. She felt dizzy.... she felt... Sleepy... Her eyes opened to find the ceiling and no Clark. Her head turned to find him sleeping peacefully in his own bed. DAMMIT! she thought.. it was such a great dream while it lasted. Sighing heavily and waited until her beathing and heartrate returned to normal before she attempted to fall asleep once more. ~*~*~*~*~*~ To Be Continued BACK |
