TARPITCOD's VIDEO GAME PROJECT

When we first started talking about this in the Thursday night chat session it was mentioned that this game would be kinda a Star Raiders with a Story Line.  When I saw this picture I became the most excited since I happen to be a big fan of the Star Raiders saga.  Looks promising.

The game will actually be a LARGE disk image, probably best played on a Atari 8-bit emulator.  Of course, naturally, all of us on the classic equipment can still dream and scheme of running it on a heavily modified original.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about the story line behind these awesome shots.  Here, like many Star Raiders type games, is the galactic map.  Hmmm... the sectors have names.  Once again adding a bit more detail and story to the classic shoot emup game.

This shot is breathtaking.  At least for an Atari 800xl.  :)  This is a shot of a moon base as seen from the surface of the moon.  Can't remember if this happens to be from our moon or some moon orbiting a planet out in deep space.  Never the less, a nice shot.  The type of shot I used to go ga-ga over back when I was originally using my Atari 400.

And here is looks like paths are made from one sector to the next.  Of course, a lot of these are guess work on my behalf since I have only seen screen shots.  But I'm sure as Tarp continues to work on it, we will get more glimpses of this cool looking game.  And someday even play it.  Until then, you can always shoot the breeze as Tarp shows up at the chat sessions.  Talk with you there!    Doctor Clu - February 9, 2001
