JUDY BLAME
p r o f i le
JUDY BLAME AKA Chris Barnes aka Fred Poodle is known
as one of the most influencial fashion stylists/art
directors in the business.
Originally one of Ray Petri's Buffalo Crew, he has
since created key looks for Boy George, Neneh Cherry,
and Bjork as well as art direction for Massive Attack.
His work has graced the pages of I-D, The Face and has
worked closely with Jean Baptiste Mondino and Nick
Knight.
Along with designer Christopher Nemeth and shoe
designer John Moore in the late 80's he opened his own
shop 'House of Beauty & Culture' selling his own
creations made of buttons, string, safety pins,
rubberbands, badges, feathers, champagne corks,
paperclips, pill bottles, stamps and anything else he
could lay his hands on.
Judy's unique gift of making something out of nothing
(brown paperbags anyone?)has influenced a generation
of stylists proving that it's individual style that
counts, a true 'Pearly Queen' if ever there was one.
