Performance Art
where its really not. it comes from emotional motivational sources. I view my performances as social commentary (or ridicule- if im pissed off) with drag as my medium.
the piece I did at plaid is extreme (and I think disgusted a lot of the audience!)
my effort, as with a lot of my material, is experimentation with scene, setting and context. taking something and putting it awkwardly out of context but appropriate.
am I making any sense? ......probably not...anyway,
this piece is called "stuff me up".

*I am center stage wearing nothing less than face a diaper and bib with my fat exposed to all
*the audience is previously handed out hostess, donuts, snowballs (in this case it was geisha's birthday cake) --- every fatty's delight!
and along with an MC (Kenny Kenny) the audience force feeds me to sickness while chanting "FEED THE FAT BITCH!"
(its like a fat sticky take on the notorious scene in CARRIE when they dump the blood on her and laugh)
the piece expresses the feeling of vulnerability (the costume) and attack (force feeding/ridicule)
it also serves to pervert the pre-conceived notion of glamour........
it manifested out of a lot of feelings of inadequacy I have personally experienced out in the social, fashionista scene that I wanted to express in a funny yet striking way.
fear of rejection due to my weight primarily.
ive been dressing up for ever and was always corseting, dieting to achieve some look that obviously didn't embody how I feel or relay my life experiences. as I feel it should.
now I embrace the awkwardness of being insecure and putting on stage,
(also confronting my demons head on)
