Rockets Grab Bulls by the Horns
November 15

Rockets 110 Bulls 83

Of course, you've heard it said the past four times that the Rockets and Bulls have met-this is the matchup of the two teams of the 1990s, of course, not the same two teams, blah, blah, blah. OK, we get it. Neither team is as much a shell of its former self. However, there still seems to be something in the air when these two teams get together.

This one was over not long after it began.

The Good
Steve Francis had a great game against his former ROY rival, scoring 28 points and dishing 8 assists.
The Bad
Elton Brand didn't quite live up to the billing of ROY and only managed to score 16 points compared to Francis' 28.
The Ugly
Ron Mercer shot the ball 15 times and didn't even reach double figures. Ouch.

Anderson, nice reverse layup.

Taylor, nice 15-footer.

Taylor, nice dunk off a Francis assist.

Wiz, nice drive and foul.

Francis, nice offensive board and put back.

Francis, nice dunk.

Rockets, nice 13-0 lead.

The Bulls attempted to make it interesting the rest of the game, but the very early 13-point difference was too much to overcome, as was the play of co-Rookie of the Year Steve Francis. 28 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds marked the sophomore's best game of the season. Along with Mobley's 20 points, we can see the signs that the backcourt may be back. However, Anderson continues to struggle with only 4 points tonight. Taylor and Thomas both had fairly strong games with 7 and 6 boards, respectively. The Rockets are still beneficiaries of surprising play of Dream. 10 points and 4 rebounds in 22 minutes is another very good sign in what will hopefully be a successful last season.

We can't take too much from this game, it was the Bulls. However, a win's a win, so I'm happy, even if the game wasn't much to watch after the first 6 minutes.
