Fire of '99.
The CHS fire happened in March 1999, and caused extensive damage to the south wing of the old building. However, within only a couple of days, the school was back up and running, with classes relocated throughout the building, and later in temporary huts. Repair work is now complete, and the huts removed. Below are some pictures of the damage. Coincidently, the fire took place on the anniversary of the Clydebank Blitz.

The Huts
The first three photos are of room 14, which is a french class on the top floor of the south wing.  It was extensively damaged, and the floor had to be completely replaced.
This room is on the first floor, and building work is in progress when this photo was taken.
Room 2, first floor.
These are the huts which accommodated pupils and teachers while repairs took place.
