MPP Marilyn Churley introduces Adoption Bill
Toronto - Today, Marilyn Churley, MPP for Broadview-Greenwood, introduced in the Ontario legislature her private member's bill to provide adult adoptees and birth parents better access to adoption records.

The Adoption Disclosure Statute Law Amendment Act, 2000, would:
"The adoption community has had its hopes raised and dashed on too many occasions in recent years and we must ensure this does not happen again.
There is overwhelming public support for adoption reform and this time there are simply no more excuses," said Churley.
The Adoption Disclosure Statute Law Amendment Act, 2000, has the support of members from all three parties and is expected to be debated in the Legislature during the fall sitting.
"Over the next few months, every single MPP across Ontario needs to be contacted. I am urging people to meet, call, write, email or fax their local MPP and tell them of the need to modernize existing adoption access laws and that they should support this bill," said Churley.
