What you might see...

The Wildlife at Cobbleacre is worth a page in this site, it really is home to some magnificent creatures. Our customers regularly report sightings of Deer and Badgers, indeed one customer got the shock of his life when  he got out of his bivvy to relieve himself one night, a  Red Deer Stag was drinking in his swim! Below is a run down on creatures you can expect to see during a stay.

The Sparrowhawk

Sparrowhawks are often seen hovering for pray. I very distinct and high pitched call differs it from the Kestrel which is also a regular visitor.

The Red Deer

Often seen on the edge of the forest at dawn and dusk

The Badger

Often seen by Carp anglers on Mario's lake

The Fox

Seen regularly and heard! The foxes call often scares the life out of anglers!

Grass Snake

Harmless snake that is often seen swimming across the lakes

Water Vole

This vary rare and protected species is often wrongly mistaken for a 'Rat' or 'water rat', in fact it is a species of it's own and can often be seen sitting on the banks of the lakes.

The Muntjack deer

A very shy deer, it is the smallest of the Deer family. Sightings have been reported on many occasions in the meadow adjacent to Giana's and Mario's lakes.

The Stoat

Regularly seen by anglers around lakes

The Woodmouse

Britain's most common rodent

The Rabbit

Lots of rabbits can be seen playing in the meadows.

The Barn Owl

Often heard if not seen, another one that scares anglers to death!

Common Lizards

are under increasing threat from loss of habitat.
These once common carnivorous reptiles like to bask in open sunny places but are an increasingly rare sight.

The Woodpecker

Very common site on Mario's and Andrews lakes

The Kingfisher

We have several breeding pairs at Cobbleacre. often seen diving for fish in Giana's lake.

The Jay
