Howard Sheret Ross
Sept. 30, 1919 - Sept. 12, 1995

My father was a great man.  He was a hoisting engineer.  Dad was a past president of the Lions Club.  I grew up in a family of three brothers, so I was daddy's little girl. If I needed help Dad was always there to give a helping hand.  No task was too big or too small for him to tackle. On Sept. 12, 1987 my father gave my hand away in marriage to a terrific guy.  On Sept. 12, 1995 I had to say a final good-bye to the greatest father.  My anniversary is now a date to celebrate my marriage but also to remember a wonderful person. Heather and Samantha didn't have much time to spend with their Grandfather, but what little time they had they will always cherish.  They still remember the way he would tease them.  The girls often mention how much they miss Grandpa.  I have lots of little memories throughout the house for them, so I'm sure they will never forget their Grandpa. When I was growing up, I thought Loretta Lynn's song "They Don't Make Them Like My Daddy Anymore" was written for my father. As the song goes--"In this great big land of freedom, at a time we really need them.  They don't make them like my daddy anymore.
