Post Op Journal,
               Let the Journey Begin...

May 31, 2002 - (Friday)
TGIF!!!!!!  (Also, TGIPD - Thank God it's Pay Day!!...lol)  I only get paid monthly and May was a lonnnnnnnnnnng month!!!  Things are going good.  Eating a bit better, joining Curves for Women on Monday (but am travelling for work Tues-Friday so not much curvin' will be going on next week, but I wanted to see if I could be one of the 1st 100 to join to get a huge discount on joining).  Weather is just fabu today and I think it will be really nice this weekend.  This weather makes me regret not going to the shore this weekend..maybe I'll rethink that and go alone..we'll see.  Work was busy this week, I'm so glad it's over.  I'm down another pound today, so far this month, a whopping 3.5 pounds (down a total of 88.5 pounds)..woo hoo!! I really believe I only lose 2 weeks out of the month, so maybe I can drop a few next week, prior to the 11th, to have a quasi OK month on the weight loss. One thing about travelling next week, my boss wants to take me out to dinner and I get kinda panicky about that.  I am not good eating with strangers and I get nervous about what to choose.  I guess I'll stick with shrimp or if we go Mexican, I'll stick with tacos and hope for the best.  I'm sure I'll be eating lunch every day with the group also, so that's a daily struggle to think what I'm going to choose in a not so great work cafeteria...ugh, the choices!!!! lol

Well, I do have some good clothes
size news.  I tried on a pair of size 16 pants and they fit!!  I couldn't believe it.  I haven't been in them in 4 years.  It made me very happy.  Not sure every 16 would fit but the two I tried on fit really nice (size 18's are kinda loose, so I better start wearing them or I'll loose the window on them).  I really wish I had someone to give these clothes to when I'm done with them.  We brought a whole bunch to a church thrift store a month or so ago, but I'd really love to give them to another WLSer.  I'm going to ask my surgeon's office if they ever have a clothing swap at the group meetings....I think that would be the perfect place to bring them since everyone is in various stages of losing.  Thank goodness I work from home or else losing this fast could be very very expensive.  After size 14's I'm on my own, I've never gotten any lower than that (or at least in many many moons).  I can't wait to have to shop for 12's and below...now that will be fun!!!

Hmmm life here is kinda boring lately...nothing interesting.  Eating is getting better, not fabulous, but definitely better.  Eating bread is still not a good thing and I'm really better off for that (I really know that - but I do miss it).  The quantity of food I can eat at one sitting is still really small, so I still am struggling to get in all my protein daily.  I had my blood tested yesterday, so I'm anxious to find out how I'm doing, blood-wise.  I've been excellent with my vitamins and my biotin for my hair and I really think that's helping.  I have been taking 7 Biotin 600 mcgs (plus an additional 600 mcgs in GNC's Hair Skin and Nails (H-S-N) vitamins) and I truly believe it's helping my hair loss.  The H-S-N vitamins are stinky, but I try to take with OJ or milk and I can get them down.  So all is well here, hope it is the same with all of you.  Drop me a line if you'd like more info.  I might log on during the weekend to update if something spectacular happens, if not, have a great weekend and enjoy this beautiful spring weather...
till next time....

June 10, 2002 - (Monday)
Well, it's been a long time in updating.  I traveled for work last week and didn't have access to the web in the hotel (at least not at a decent speed to update the page) so no updates (not that there was much to update about).  Pretty much --- same 'ole, same 'ole with the weight loss.  I'm down 89.5 pounds and am hoping for an even 90 for tomorrow's 6 month update. I was really hoping to be down 100 pounds by 6 months, but alas, I am 10 pounds shy.  Oh well, what's a girl gonna do.  I rejoice in the knowledge that I feel better about myself than I did 6 months ago and I look forward to the next 6 months.  Ah, to be a fortune teller and be able to "see" where I'll be in 6 months.  I ate pretty well last week while away and the dinners and lunches with the co-workers were great.  I didn't throw up, ate slow, picked food items that I could eat (hamburger, crab cake, etc.) and I was a happy camper.  Boy I've definitely come a long way with the eating.  I haven't thrown up in awhile and that makes me very happy.  I have to get better with the exercise, cause I'm horrible with that.  I did join Curves and will be starting that tomorrow.  After I finish this update, I will be walking on the treadmill for 30 mins.  Hope I keep it up!!!  Well, that's it for now, I'm really boring, but am happy to be where I am right now and look forward to the future.  I will be updating tomorrow for my 6 month anniversary!! Until next time....
