A Teacher's Perspective of the Web
Retired after 32 years of teaching, I have left this site for the use of those still in the trenches. Education is something I deem as a liberating tool that grants one opportunities otherwise unknown. Therefore I have a broad range of study and experiences that took me through many different institutions of higher learning. While in Germany, in addition to teaching, I was a tour escort and a member of an Alpine climbing group in Neu Ulm. My interests include theology, all things German, the human psyche, antique/classic vehicles (see my pic link to view my 1952 Chevy pickup, an off-frame restoration project completed in 1994), reading for information, and computer technology.
The love to learn new and different things and how they interrelate is the legacy I hope to have transfered to my students. In saying that, I must add that our choice today is the same, although tainted, as it was for Adam and Eve: the choice of knowledge and independence weighed against the choice of wisdom. Man nearly always chooses self-determination, but it must always be balanced with wisdom! Knowledge alone, whether actual or presumed, does not equate to the self-actualization we desire. It merely remains the means to hopefully an accomplished end.

Since 1962/63 it has become an ever-increasing challenge to teach. It is time again for our nation to humble ourselves and seek guidance from a higher authority, the Author of our faith, as we determine to mitigate the complexities of this age as a result of each seeking his own way.
