• INTRODUCTION

    The Network Institute of Computer Education & Business Management was established on 10th. of the March, 1990, as non profit based organization to provide professional training in Computer & administrative sciences to the people of remote area.

  • The Network Institute of Computer Education Society (Reg.) is managing the Institute. It consists of 9 Executive Members. It is an NGO working in the lower Punjab for awareness of Computer literacy. It conducts Seminars, Exhibitions and Computer workshops for promoting the Computer Education. The Society has its Publication cell where it publishes the research. The Institute has following objectives: -

    The Institute is registered with DIRECTORATE OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION, Education Department, Govt. of Punjab (Pakistan) for conducting Diploma Level Programs. It was registered in Feb. 1991.
  •  Affiliation

  • The Institute is affiliated with Punjab Board of Technical Education Lahore and The Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad.

      Admission Policy: -

    1. Bachelor in Computer Science will be a 3 years Program i.e. six Semesters.
    2. Candidates seeking admission should have passed Intermediate with mathematics (at least 2nd. Division) or equivalent.
    3. If a candidate has passed Intermediate without Mathematics (at least 2nd. Division) he/she has to take and pass mathematics (323) Course alongwith other BCS courses. However this Mathematics (323) course will be considered deficiency / non-credit course for such candidates. Such candidate shall pay additional fee for this course.

     Admission Procedure: -

    1. Application for admission will be invited through advertisement in newspapers.
    2. The University offers two semesters in one year if possible. A student will be allowed to register for a maximum of two full credit courses or four half-credit courses in one semester.
    3. Only the prescribed printed admission forms will be entertained. Photocopy or incomplete admission form will not be considered in any case.
    4. Selection of candidates in the program will be made strictly on the basis of merit.
    5. An admitted student will be attached with a Regional Center and a Computer Study Center, the Network Institute of Computer Education Rahim Yar Khan is an approved Computer Study Center for conduction of BCS Classes.
    6. Any course can be taken as a certificate course.

    Method of Instruction

    Tutotial Support

    AIOU will appoint tutors for continuos academic guidance, supervision, and practical training and continuos assessment. These tutors will submit the results of continuous assessment to the concerned regional office of AIOU.

    Course Requirement: -

    Each Course of BCS consists of:

    1. Study of materials and passing in the assignments.
    2. At least 80% attendance in Hands-on computer training / practical for skill oriented courses.
    3. At least 80% attendance at the study centers for theory and practical.
    4. Participation in Seminars, workshops and lectures organized/ prescribed by the AIOU from time to time.
    5. Project work.
    6. Final Examination.

     

    Assignments: -

    Assignments mean written exercises which students complete after having studied specific part of reading materials. These are designed in a way that students are able to relate their own ideas with the concepts formed from their studies and thus enable themselves to make their own objective judgements. After completion, students will send these assignments to their respective tutors who will return the same to them within two weeks after evaluating and providing necessary academic guidance and feedback. There are two written assignments for a half credit course whereas a full credit course has four assignments. In addition there will be practical assignments/projects for skill related courses.

      1990 The Year of Struggle

  • The Institute starts its academic activities in limited resources, because the awareness of computer literacy is not so. It was appear as PIONEER institute in three Divisions (Lower Punjab).

  •   1991 The Year of Development
  • NICE-BM was registered by the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Punjab in the month of Feb. for Computer Diploma and Certificate Courses.

    This Institute got affiliation from PUNJAB BOARD OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION Lahore to offer the Courses of ONE-YEAR DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER APPLICATIONS, 4 Months Certificate in Computer Programming.

    Deputy Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan Chaudhry Jaffar Iqbal Gujjar was the CHIEF GUEST of Inauguration Ceremony of DCA Classes.

  •   1992 The Year of Challenges
  • The students of Diploma appeared in PBTE's Exam. The Institute becomes the Approved Center for Examinations.

  •  1993 The Year of Success
  • The Result of DCA Classes was 100% Passed. Which is good record in all the Punjab. In this year Institute started DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION. At that time it was the only one Recognized Computer College offering Business Higher Secondary School education.

  •  1994 The Year of Honor
  • Its Student Mr. Muhammad Tayyab got First Position in DCA Examination throughout the Punjab. In Convocation the Former State Minister for Finance Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din delivered Diplomas. He admired the best performance of institute in his speech and in VISITOR BOOK.

  •   1995 The Year of Step Forward
  • Another student of DCS (Diploma in Computer Science) Mr. Mahatab-Ullah got 1486 marks out of 1850 which is un-breakable record of Board.

  •  1996 The Year of Technology
  • The Institute established a latest computer Hardware and maintenance laboratory containing Testing Equipment.

  •   1997 The Year to enter in 21st. Century
  • On the demand of people and serving the nation Institute make efforts for affiliation for Graduate Degree in Computer Science. As the result of fruitful efforts, ALLAMA IQBAL OPEN UNIVERSITY, Islamabad grants the recognition to conduct the Degree Program in Computer Science Called Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS). The institute through the AIOU is also offering other Short term Courses & Computer Diploma.

    An introductory Seminar for BCS conducted by Network Institute of Computer Education Society (Reg.), the Provincial Parliamani Secretary for Communication & Works Mian Imtiaz Ahmad (MPA) was the Chief Guest. Mian Abdul Sattar (Chairman Standing Committee for Punjab Assembly) was president of the Seminar.

      1998 The Year of innovation

    Institute has started the Classes of BCS on 9th. Feb. 1998. Now it is going to Start new batch for BCS. (Last Updated 27th. of October 1998.)
