Battle for Goose Green - Battle Map
Slide 34 of 44
Goose Green was an out post that threatened the beach head. 2nd Para Regiment under the command of Colonel H. Jones was assigned to capture it. As seen above a 3 company attack moved south down a narrow peninsula towards the settlement. The one naval gun that was supporting the attack jammed early in the proceedings and they could only carry enough ammunition for 2 mortars. The weather prevented the Harriers from giving air support until the second day.
Le 2e Commando de Parachute Régiment, avec baïonnettes au canon mais sans support de l'Artillerie ou de l'aviation, attaqua Goose Green.
