Hammer thrower at the Highland Games, Glenelg
A splendid study, as he displays the Scotch hammer with its stiff wooden handle and 16lb. round iron head. To throw it he has to stand still and gain the momentanum only from swinging it round his head.
He is far from the crowd - good throwers can throw over a hundred feet.
