Jon's Student Housing memories page

In 1994 I moved out of home for the first time at the ripe old age of 20. I spent my semesters at student village at Edith Cowan University's Mt Lawley (1994/1995)
and Joondalup (1996/1997/1998) campuses for the next 4.5 years.

1994/1995


At Mt Lawley I was in Units 13, and 17. Some of the people I remember from Unit 17 (1995) are Kumar fromSingapore (Media), Tara (Dance), Angie (Primary Education), Ilka(Fine Arts), Rob (Economics), and Charles (Voice and Drama?) I don't have any photos from this time.

1996

At Joondalup I was in Unit 13 for a short time with people like Darren, Jace, Christine (USA), Thomas (Tanzania)... Then moved to Unit 21 for most of 1996 and all 1997.
Some people in Unit 21 were Jackie (Childrens Studies), Dave (Police Studies), Julie (Environmental Management), Todd from USA, Mark (Leisure Science), Donna (Hospitality),
Jesi from Malaysia (Hospitality), Ashleigh(Early Childhood Education), and Chris from Canada.

Here is Gila (with the Tri top on.) She was an awesome cyclist, and I did Sports Science with her for a year.
Gila lived in Unit 19 which was underneath Unit 21 and came from South Africa...

Here is Floyd, Mark (unit 21), Julie (unit 21), me, Gila, and Grant in the Rec. room for a Student Village dinner in 1996...
One of the good things I did in 1996 was set up a small bible study group with 4 other "student villageites", which went ok for a month or two...
