1996-1997
At Joondalup I was in Unit 13 for a short time with people like Darren, Jace, Christine (USA), Thomas (Tanzania)... Then moved to Unit 21 for most of 1996 and all 1997.
Some people in Unit 21 were Jackie (Childrens Studies), Dave (Police Studies), Julie (Environmental Management), Todd from USA,
Mark (Leisure Science), Donna (Hospitality),
Jesi from Malaysia (Hospitality), Ashleigh(Early Childhood Education), and Chris from Canada.
1997, was an interesting, busy, at times tough year, but was a very good one for me...will have to check my 1997 diary as to some of the significant things, but I was in Unit 21 all that year, and a great unit it was too....
Semester 1 1998
In 1998 I got a job as a residential assistant (RA) at Student Village for the first semester, and moved to Unit 16. The main people here
were Jaime from USA (Leisure Science) Shannon (Hospitality), Inderpul from Kenya (Computer Science), and initially Jock (Engineering and Computer Science?). Danielle from Mauritus (Business) was there early on.
(A friend of Danielle's I got to know well from 1996 on, was Jenni (see photo on the
1997 page) from South Africa,
who graduated with a degree in Children's Studies. I went to her 21st B'day in 1996.)
We also had a brief 2 week visit from two Singaporean's; Angie and Rebecca (Childrens Studies).
In June 1998 after exams I moved out of Student Village...to try and cut costs, my diminishing income finally caught up with me...
