Brick Memorial - Mustang Holiday Wrestling Classic
The North Hunterdon Wrestling Team participated in the Brick Memorial Holiday Classic. Three of the top 20 schools participated in the tournament. The North Wrestlers were very successful, capturing four (4) first place finishes, three (3) seconds, and one (1) third.
Champions were:
Eric Eisenhart ....... at 112 lbs,
Eric Balut ............. at 119 lbs,
Justin Bagley ........ at 152 lbs, and
Eric Arnold .......... at 171 lbs.
Second Place honors were achieved by:
Ian Denlinger ........ at 103 lbs,
Mike Jeffry .......... at 125 lbs, and
Brian Powers ....... at 135 lbs.
Third place consolation winner was
Shane Costello ......... at 215 lbs.
Taking fourth place for the North Team was
Kelly Pierce ......... at 140 lbs.
The North Hunterdon Wrestling team again is very strong in the lower weights. They are on a collision course with Brick Memorial, who hosted this tournament and last year beat North Hunterdon at the Group 3 Final Four. But, there is a whole season of wrestling before the top four finalists are selected.
