in de stuurhut / in the wheelhouse
De twee dochters van de schipper Jole kijken lachend door
het openstaande raam van de stuurhut. Ervoor ligt een
reddingsboei waarop de naam Texelstroom te lezen is en
er bovenop zijn aan weerszijden de boordlichten zichtbaar. De
heflijn loopt over een lier aan de voet van de mast en links
is de kist van de hefmotor met het rookpijpje en de
schakelhandel. Helemaal vooraan is de trapingang om af te
dalen naar het vooronder en in de linkerhoek van de foto is
nog net een deel van de zware midscheepse bolder te zien.

from the
window of the wheelhouse. In front of the window
lies a
lifebuoy with the name Texelstroom on it and
on top of the
wheelhouse are the side lights of the ship. The
hoisting line
runs up from the winch at the bottom of the mast.
To the
left is the box covering the hoisting motor with
an exhaust
pipe and the gear handle. In front is the entrance
to the
front underdeck room and in the corner the heavy
midship
bolder is just visible.
