Combat Pistol Association
Welcome to the Ohio Police Combat Pistol Association home page. If you are interested in handgun shooting and want to compete against some of the best shooters that Ohio has to offer, You have come to the right place. Our organization sanctions competitive handgun pistol matches in Ohio. Police officers from many different agencies from across Ohio and surrounding states compete against each other for the honor of obtaining a place on the Ohio Governor's Top Twenty Pistol Team and the Ohio Governor's Top Fifteen Duty Pistol Team.
Our shooting season starts each year in the Spring and runs up to the National Police Shooting Championships in September. Membership in our organization is limited to Police Officers, Corrections officers and Industrial Security personnel. Civilians who wish to become members must be sponsored by an active O.P.C.P.A. member.
Each pistol match consists of two shooting events. The 1500 match or PPC and the Duty Pistol Match. Please refer to the course of fire page for an exact description of each event. NRA rules are used to govern these matches. Refer to the the NRA Web Site for information on obtaining a rule book.
