Hey there! I'm Feather, my mom's hunter pony. Well, I was a hunter pony. Now that mom made the switch to 3 day eventing, I'm an eventing pony. It's hard work!!! Much harder than being a hunter pony. I'm not like Galaxy, who has nothing to say. I'm very talkative. Mom said that if I was a hooman, I'd be a cheerleader, whatever that is.
Here's my story:
I was just a baby when I was shipped from Iowa to this barn in Massachusetts. I was scared being by myself during this long trip, and needed someone to hug me. I was getting really upset in a tiny standing stall at the barn, but then Andie came. She was only 6 at the time, but was a pretty good rider for her age. We bonded instantly. When she got on me for the first time, she realized that I didn't know anything! Boy was she surprised! But, we started working together, and 137 bucks, 782 bolts, and 8 tainers later, we're an awesome pair!! People think I'm push button, and offer to buy me, but I'm not! I'll only behave for Andie and no one else! I don't like other people on me, so they get to hit the ground. I think that that is fun! This way, Andie can never sell me to anyone (unless they like eating sand sandwiches), so I can stay with her forever! (smart, aren't I?)
The one thing I'm proud of is my awards. If Andie finds out I'm saying these in front of everyone, I'll be in trouble, so I'll just list my top ones.
1. Council Cup Challenge Trophy-- This was a 'puissance'. I was competing against other TBs and Warmbloods, and was the only pony. But guess what-- I won! The jumps reached 4' high, which comes past my shoulder! Boy it was hard, but it was worth it.
2. NHH&JA High Point Pony Hunter, Reserve High Point Children's Hunter, and for Andie, 2 years in a row of High Point Eq. Under 12. These were our main awards from the New Hampshire Hunter and Jumper Association.
3. High Point Junior, Low Hunter, and High Point Rider/ Horse Combination from the Equine Success show series. -- We won all those on a local circuit that has some big time competition on it! Andie won a full outfit from Devon Aire for the highpoint combination, but I only got carrots!
4. 2nd at Senator Bell Horse Trials -- My only event ever, first time in a dressage arena and XC, and I ended up clear in both jumpings and a 32.0 in dressage. Mom said it was my only time doing it. I'm sad about that. Galloping XC was so much fun!!!!!!!
Here are some pics of me. Mom is in the process of scanning more, so she'll hopefully update frequently.
