Well it was a lovely afternoon that turned a little rainy. But our spirits was not daunted and the show went on as usual. Again another good turn out of 17 to 18 players. That had its drawbacks too. The defences of both sides packed their goal areas and prevented any goals from being scored. Nobody likes a goalless game but we just had to endure through it all. But the game was not without incident.
At the eleventh hour there was a nasty like collision between Desmond (a tank
like figure) and Peter (our beloved Mr excitable) The collision caused play to stop and before we knew it, when there was still 5 minutes of football to be
played, Dinesh and company had decided to close shop and put the goalpost back. That is just not on guys. We agreed in our previous mail that we will play until
eight regardless of the visibility. Thus this is unbecoming behaviour of a committee member. However there were many others who too thought it was okay to stop. But why?
five more minutes and there would not have been any disputes. Come on guys, let's not let this happen again. Next time even if you guys leave the game will
go on and the stop at eight. We decided, no not over beers, not to punish Dinesh
and accepted his apologies. all the others who were guilty of this heinous crime
please follow suit for the good of our game.
All the same Sean has resumed the leadership of our P-league. But only on goal diff.
Winston leads the top scorer's list, for which there is no award as we want to promote football and not
goal scoring. And no Winston it's not because we think you'll probably win it. The FA cup is also led by Sean, a double again?
Fat hope! The P-league also likes to welcome Desmond and Tony to our league,, which brings our number to 40 participant thus far.
Please also not that on the count of prudence, we'll only consider players who have at least 10% of the games played by the player with the most number of
games played. At the moment all of us qualify to stay in the league. At the end of the season all those in the top twenty qualify for the premier P-league, the
next twenty division one and the next division two and so on and so forth.
