Lead a simple life with a simple diet suitable for you
To lose weight and to be fit follow these simple steps
Stop drinking any kind of carbonated drink.  Most of these drinks are loaded with sugar and empty calories.   By staying away from these drinks you save atleast 200 empty calories, you can worry that much less.
Women need to stay away from any kind of Diet or even the fancier Diet-Caffeine free soda.  Phosphoric acid which is a main ingredient in these drinks destroy your bone mass making them brittle.
Drink atleast 8 oz. of water daily. The more you drink water the more you burn calories without doing any exercise.  
Since water is cooler than the body temperature it will spend more calories just by bringing the water to body temperature.
Eat atleast 4 to 5 servings of vegetables and fruits
Go lean on red meat (avoid as much as possible) or try the white meat instead.
Exercise, exercise, you will lose weight and be fit and have some fun in your life.
