1966 World Cup - England
At 22, he played alongside his idol, a fadingGarrincha,
at the 1966 finals. With the Little Bird still playing on the right,
Jairzinho was sometimes used on the left. The pair of wingers both
played in a World Cup classic match which they lost to Hungary.
1970 World Cup - Mexico
SHOW TIME Jairzinho celebrated with Pele for the opening goal in the final.
Jairzinho was one of the stars in the 1970 tournament. In the semi-final
against Uruguay, Jaircinho scored a crucial goal late in the second half.
Running deep inside his own half, he combined with Pele and Tostao and
outpaced the Uruguayuan defense to score.
