Jeffrey Combs was born on the 9th September 1954 in Oxnard, California. He was trained at the "Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts" in Santa Maria, Californa and the "Professional Actor's Training Program of the University of Washington" in Seattle. Later he played at the "Old Globe Theatre" in San Diego, the "Arizona Theatre Company" in Tucson, the "California Shakespeare Festival", the "Mark Taper Forum" in Los Angeles as well as the "South Coast Repertory" in Costa Mesa. 1981 he got his first role in a movie called "Honky Tonk Freeway ". Several small guest appearances followed, until he was given the leading role in "Re-Animator" (1985). The success of this movie made Jeffey Combs wellknown in the genre, and he continued to be cast as a "bad guy" in many other horrormovies such as "Bride of Re-Animator", Peter Jackson's "The Frighteners" (1996) or "The House on Haunted Hill" (1999). Only a few times he could avoid typecasting, e.g. in the role of the sympathetical D-Day in "The Fortress" or as the mysterious "Dr. Mordrid".
From his childhood on, Jeffrey Combs has been a hughe fan of the original Star Trek Series, and so he deliberately auditioned for the role of William Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation - in vain, as his colleague Johnathan Frakes got the job. So he had to wait til 1994 before he could finally get hold in the Star Trek universe. He was cast for the role of the Alien Tiron in the DS9 episode "Meridian". Although he was hardly visible under several layers of rubber make-up, he was able to leave an impression of his acting skills. Shortly afterwards, René Auberjonois (Odo) suggested him for the role of the Ferengi Brunt in the episode "Family Business". Later the producers gave Combs a role in which he could show more of his face and his acting skills. As Vorta Weyoun, the treacherous ambassador of the Dominion, he became famous. After the series' finale, he returned 1999 to the set for a guest appearance in Star Trek: Voyager. The episode "Tsunkatse", in which Combs was rejoined with his DS9 collegue J.G. Hertzler, reached the highest ratings of the whole season. In the same year, he did two more movies: the horror/thriller "The Attic Expeditions" starring Seth Green (Buffy) and Ted Raimi (Xena) and the comic book adaption "Faust- love of the Dammned". In summer 2000 Jeffrey Combs could be seen live on stage during a fabulous PA at Page’s Bar in London and one week later at the Nexus Convention in Berlin.
