MAIN CAST & CHARACTERS

DAMON SANTOSTEFANO
In his teens, Santostefano performed stand-up comedy in his hometown of Boston. He began working professionally as a director while attending New York University Film School, creating award-winning short films and documentaries. Santostefano established a production company where he developed and directed film and television projects for HBO, Showtime, PBS and Paramount Television. He also directed several Off-Broadway stage productions including award-winning plays at The American Place Theater and Saint Andrew's Stage.

As a screenwriter, Santostefano has written projects for Columbia, Warner Brothers and Disney. He has also written several pilots, most recently a one-hour drama for 20th Century Fox/FBC.

As a director, Santostefano recently completed the feature Bring It On Again, the sequel to Universal's Bring it On. He also directed the Warner Brothers film Three To Tango starring Matthew Perry, Neve Campbell and Dylan McDermott. He received a CableACE Award for Best Series for his direction of Nickelodeon's The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Other notable directing credits include HBO's The High Life and the pilot and episodes of The War Next Door for Studios USA.

 

ANNE JUDSON-YAGER

Real-Life Cheer Career: None. Anne grew up playing basketball and soccer. “I was always athletic, but I never had the inclination to cheer.”
Playing the Part: “[Cheerleading] takes a lot of strength and flexibility. Between the dancing, cheering and the moves being so crisp and clean, I have a whole new respect for cheerleaders!”

FAUNE A.CHAMBERS

Real-Life Cheer Career: As co-captain of the South Lakes HS squad in Reston, VA, she cheered for football and girls’ and boys’ basketball.
Playing the Part: “I knew the challenge was going to be making sure that [the cheerleading] was as high quality as the first movie. Because Monica was written with a strong dance background and loves to cheer, it fit me to a ‘T.’”

RICHARD LEE JACKSON
(Taken from IMDb) Born in Redlands, CA as son of a country singer and a physician. In 1983 his family moved to Battle Ground, WA. Currently (1995) he lives in Burbank together with his brother Jonathan and sister Candice, who also star in recurring roles in TV shows. He discovered his fable for the acting business at the age of 12, when he visited Universal Studios. Just one year later he started performing in local theaters in Portland, OR. He did also appear in commercials and did some modeling until he managed to get guest roles in popular TV series like "Baywatch" (1989) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993).

His latest projects includes Hope Ranch (TV movie, 2004)

BREE TURNER

Born and raised in Northern California, Bree came to Southern California to attend UCLA and to actively pursue her life long love of dance and acting. She also studied abroad at King's College in London. Quickly making a name for herself in Hollywood, she recently graced the big screen as the ultimate sorority girl in Touchstone Picture's Sorority Boys (2002) with Barry Watson and Harland Williams. On the small screen, Bree kicked off the 2002 season of ABC's "Spin City" (1996) in her recurring role as Charlie Sheen's new, younger, love interest. The 2002 Sundance Film Festival considered it a Short Subject but in this documentary, Bree's character, the understanding girlfriend, finds that for her boyfriend ("Corky Romano's" Roger Fan) Quest for Length, The (2002) is anything but. Bree can also be seen in Columbia's hit movie Wedding Planner, The (2001) opposite Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey and co-starred with Rob Schneider in the ever-popular Disney movie, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999), produced by Adam Sandler.

Bree has completed production on several new independent projects, including Whacked! (2002) with Patrick Muldoon and Judge Reinhold; Meyerson's, The (2001) starring Dan Hedaya and Ann Warren, Leslie; Jungle Juice (2001) with Christopher Walken; Piece of My Heart, A (2002)with Perabo, Piper; Sure Thing Effect, The (2002) and the recent Artisan release of Backyard Dogs (2000).

Bree has a strong background in dance and can be seen in the opening title sequence of My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) and the feature films She's All That (1999), Dance With Me (1998) and Big Lebowski, The (1998). Bree portrayed 'Brenda' on "Moesha" (1996) and starred in the MTV original series "Undressed" (1999) as 'Tina'. She has two commercials currently airing, Toshiba and the long running "Don't even think about it" ad for Hyundai. Other commercials of note include Dr. Pepper and the popular GAP commercials. Additionally, she has appeared in videos for Brian Setzer, Sugar Ray and Smashmouth.

Real-Life Cheer Career: Bree cheered for two years and was on the pom squad for two years at Monte Vista HS in northern California. Her squad attended USA camps and traveled to many competitions. “We acted like we were the Laker Girls of high school! It was a very cool thing to be a cheerleader.”
Playing the Part: “I’ve grown to completely appreciate the athleticism of cheerleading. You not only have to be in the best shape, but learn balance, center, timing and rhythm. You have to do a full-on routine while smiling, selling and working it. I have mad respect!”

BRYCE JOHNSON
Nicknamed Matty, this cutey is certainly not a stranger to fans out there especially if you're into TV Series Popular. In general, he was born on April 18, 1977 and raised in Sioux City, Iowa where he lived with his mother and brothers. After graduating high school in 1995, Bryce headed straight to LA and put himself into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. . He quickly landed a series starring role in The WB pilot "Saving Graces" (1999) but when that series didn't make the schedule, he was tapped for "Popular". He also appeared in five episodes of the MTV comedy "Undressed" (1999).

Currently residing in Hollywood, Bryce is making a name for himself on television. After the cancellation of "Popular" he went on to make a few more projects, such as the independent film Puzzled (2001) and the made for television movie Unfinished Business (2002) (TV). When not working, he enjoys playing all sports, especially golf, beach volleyball and football.

His latest projects includes Harry & Max (movie, 2004) Home of Phobia (movies, 2004) What I Like About You (TV series, 2005) and Still Life (TV series, 2005).

JOIE LENZ
Born as Joie Bethany Lenz (pronounce 'joy'), this actress/ singer had been appearing in several acclaimed TV series such as The Guiding Light (where she starred as Michelle Santos for several years). Other than that, she'd also guest starred in The Guardian (2003 - as Claire Stasiak) Maybe It's Me (2002 -- as a sales clerk) Felicity (2001 - as Gretchen) Charmed (2001 - as Lady Julia) and Off Centre (2001 - as Heather Madigan). The talented thespian also got involved in films like Mary and Rhonda (2000) I Love You, I Love You Not (1996) and Thinner (1996) as well as musical work such as Broadway's Foxy Ladies Love/ Boogie 70s Explosion (1999-2000) and appeared in Brit pop group 5ive's video called When The Lights Go Out.

Born Kathryn Felicia Day, the 5'7" actress had graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's of science in mathematics. She is also a professional-level violinist. She'd been appearing in several TV series such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer (2003 - as Vi) and House Blend (2002 - as Pam).

Her latest projects includes God's Waiting List (movie, 2005) Mystery Woman: Visions of a Murder (TV movie, 2005) Warm Spring (TV movie, 2005) and Monk (TV series, 2005).

DENNIS HEMPHILL JR
Again, I have little info regarding this actor. Hopefully I'll find more info (and even pictures) of him in the future. For now, the only sure thing about him was that he'd been appearing in a movie called The Whirlwind (2001 - as Luke) other than BIOA.

HOLLY TOWNE
Other than her filmography, there's nothing much that can be found on this young lady. She had been credited in several made-for-video movies such as Shredder and Getting There, as well as other movies like Ted Bundy, Dumb & Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, The Deep End of the Ocean and TV's The Mercury Project movie Rocket's Red Glare. Like the other cast members of BIOA, she can also be seen in several TV series such as The Parkers, 7th Heaven & Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

Her latest projects includes Neo Ned (movie, 2005) and Statistics (movie, 2005)


 

 

KATHERINE BAILESS
Born in Mississippi, Bailess began studying classical dance at the age of four and competed in gymnastics, dance and cheerleading. At age 11, she began performing live on television as a dancer in the Miss Mississippi Pageant where she continued for 7 more years. After attending ballet workshops across the country, Katherine won a scholarship with the Broadway Dance Center in New York and at Ann Reinking's Broadway theatre Project in Florida. After focusing on dance and musical theatre at Marymount Manhattan College, Katherine went on to study at the William Esper Studio's two-year intensive program.

On the big screen, Katherine has appeared in a number of independent films including "The Bootlegger," "A Failed Relationship," "The Champion" and "Central." For television, Katherine had a recurring role on ABC's "One Life to Live" soap opera and starred as Brianna in Fox Sport's "Thunderbox." Her many talents have made her a success in theatre productions as both an actress and dancer.

Her latest movie is 20th Century Fox's upcoming romantic musical comedy From Justin to Kelly (2003). This spring break Miami adventure stars American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and runner-up Justin Guarini. Katherine's role as Alexa, Kelly's sexy friend, has her singing and dancing her own number of which she performs with a male chorus of fifty guys. The movie is scheduled for a June 2003 release. Additionally, Katherine will be starring in Universal's "Bring It On Again" where she plays the role of Colleen Lipman for director Damon Santostefano. This is scheduled for a July release.

When not working Katherine enjoys teaching children's dance lessons, reading and outdoor sports. She resides in Los Angeles.
