Ours is a five story limestone building that dates back to the early 1900's and was most likely operated as tenement housing for dock workers back in Hoboken's industrial waterfront past.  In the 1980's 1114 Park was extensively renovated, along with her neighbors from 1106 to 1112.  This took place in a wave of gentrification that was shown in detail by Nora Jacobson in her documentary "Delivered Vacant".  1114 Park is fairly uncommon in the sense that the work performed didn't seek to destroy many of the architectural details that make older housing unique.  I feel that many people are drawn here because elements such as oak mantles and original moldings were left intact, as were the building's detailed iron work, copper coping and bay windows.  These elements exist in harmony with the inground pool, landscaped courtyard and gym that were carved out of the common areas that abut the Western exposure of the building.

This web site has been developed for association members and friends and can be whatever we decide we want it to be.  I have added Hoboken related links on the bottom left of the screen, as well as internal pages that focus on the 11th and Park block in general and our building specifically.  I welcome any suggestions for additional content and can be reached via email by clicking on my name below.  If you like the site please sign our guestbook.
